Similar to our past streams, we'd love to gather some questions from you to answer live! Please submit your question for our development team in the thread below, and we'll select 10 of them at random to answer at the end of our livestream.

In order to accommodate a variety of questions from our community, please only post ONE question below, and the more direct and succinct the better (think one to two sentences)! Submissions end Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 11AM Pacific, so we can select your questions before the broadcast.

    Certain player abilities may be enhanced in certain climates, will this be true on the ocean, implying fire spells may be less potent than an ice spell on the open water?

  • Will players be able to be a citizen of a node and belong to a religion from another divinine node? And if so, could players create custom religions at divine nodes lvl 3 Sid Meier's style?

    Even though Summoners may be one the last classes to be revealed as they will be built upon the other classes skills etc, would it not be prudent test some form of a basic summon (without skills/effects) even for a mage during these alpha/network and stress tests?

    When you could have to path 100-300 summons/pets & cosmetic pets along with keep guards/npc's/dragons during these sieges, if the summons lag, rubber band/don't operate as intended that could make more issues down the line.

  • A question about combat:

    Will there be Action-targeting-only and Tab-targeting-only combat abilities, or will ALL abilities be available either way?

    If certain abilities are stronger or weaker in different climates, does that extend to the weekly seasons and the more varied weather changes? Or only the fixed climate for that area.
    For example, ice spells in winter, fire in the heat of summer, water spells during rainy weather, lightning and wind spells during lightning storms, etc.

    Can you consider allowing us to turn off this unbearable music while we play?

    Will the Tulnar have verminous(specifically Rat) head customization options, or will it only be reptilian/insect options?

    Will there be mounts we can quick summon to do certain activities?  Specifically for gliding or any type of quick movements with assistance from specific mount.

    How much player-to-player reliance will be built into world exploration and leveling? Some of the magic of old school MMOs was their solo difficulty which forced you to interact with other players and rely on each other (building reputation and friendships along the way). Is that being built into Ashes or will the the majority of the outdoor non-event experience be completely solo-able?

    We've heard steven say that the character creator will be available before the games release to make templates of your characters. Do you imagine this will be before or after alpha two?

    PS: Will there be a contest to re-create Steven? If so, the prize should be some sandal keychain.

    So religions are not tied to Divine Nodes. They are tied to Temples which are buildings the Mayor's can build in a constructible plot.

    There is of course the Divine Node Unique Building (Temple through whatever name at Stage 6) but we are waiting on the Divine Node blog for that information.

  • Will you be able to negate fall damage while mounted? If not would there be a reduced amount of fall damage or no reduction at all.
  • Will there be submarine type ships available to players? Also how customizable will our ships be? Like can we put 2 different types of cannons side by side? Same with sails.

    Server Queues / Population:
    How are you intending to manage and minimise server queues during launch (when typically there is a large influx of players for MMOs) while also ensuring there aren't low population servers post-launch since the Node system doesn't seem to lend itself to server mergers.

    It has been stated that freeholds may be place in the zone of influence of a stage 3 / village node or higher. Does this mean I can place a freehold in a vassal node and get citizenship in the parent node? Can I choose which node I have citizenship in?

  • Most MMO's support a nice balance between PVP, PVE and those guys who spend all day in town running a business selling their wares and crafting skills. I'm super into crafting and have always found great joy in spending tons of time and effort playing game content to allow me to farm and craft and become valuable in my own way.

    Will there be any updates on crafting coming over the next few quarters? Will crafting be a challenging and valuable skill or one of those "Everybody has 3 maxed crafting skills" type things that take a backseat to the rest of the gameplay?

    When will details regarding Angel and Demon racial skins become available? I could see some people upgrading their Kickstarter packages, just sayin ;)

    Will the starting location of the node influence the appearance of the node itself, such as a treehouse node in the forest, a cave like city in the mountains, and a coastal city near the water?
  • Can you give us more details on the effects the Underrealm will have on Professions?

    What is the thought process on rarity of collectibles such as mounts or drops? For example some drops have a sub 1% drop rate *with* limited time or chances to get it. Time limited is more of a chore, but will we see anything like the WoW angler where you have to complete challenges or a mini-questline to gain access to something?

    With limited items (legendary) that may be limited to one per server, what will happen to the item when that player leaves the world (rerolls on another server, quits the game, etc). Will it eventually be put back in the world loot table or be gone forever?
  • Would you ever consider giving us middle of month updates on systems that we haven't seen in months and talk about where you guys are in production on those systems and how you evolved those systems from the last time you talked about them? Like a Live Letter from the Dev Team.
  • Hey, is there any plan to rework the animations of the player character? I think they feel different and also worse compared to the mount animations which are basically perfect.

    Will there be types of mobs that are immune to different schools/types of magic/skills? Like a monster with frost attributes can't get damaged by an attack with that same attribute but is in turn weaker against the opposing attribute, in this case fire.

    Additionally, if it is that way, will there be items, gems, enchants that can change the attribute of skills/magic to a different one?
