Greetings, glorious adventurers! If you're joining in our Alpha One spot testing, please follow the steps here to see all the latest test info on our forums and Discord!

Brotherhood of Iron [NA][PVE/PvP/RP][Dwarf-centric]

(this is mainly a placeholder as we try to get the band back together, on a mission from the Divines, and all that)

Race: Mountain Dwarf-centric

Theme: Cadre of dwarfs setting up shop in the mountains hoping to strike rich veins of ore and turning it into works of art and war. Artisans and traders would form the core of RP.

PVE: Quests and small group content would be the main thrust for the first few weeks and months of the game starting. Larger group content would be tackled as the players grow comfortable with each other and find their preferred play styles.

PVP: Due to the caravan system and the trading system can foresee that the guild would also need guards and scouts.

Why? Because dwarfs are smexy.

Thanks for the kind words. As it is much too soon to tell with any certainty what we will be able to do (tho' the tidbits dropped by the devs sure are tasty) I was just making sure that the old name would be in capable hands.

As for roles; It's to show that we would also value our down time and use it for constructive socializing if not a bit of light-hearted RP now and then.

Bit off topic but now that Steven mentioned underground nodes one can't help but wonder if they let us grow a node in a vast cavern where a dwarven city will grow literally up the walls.

Tho' that might make for too secure a city for the siege mechanic to work.

Hooo i wasent aware 'bout the cavern part. I was wondering how well dwarven lore should be cover when talking about city or dwarven settlement. Maybe there is still chance of the "Under the mountain metropolis" after all !
A city in a cavern would be neat, but i think to be fair, a simple city carv in a mountain side should suffice to not make the humans or other pesky race too jealous of ours.
Do you know if we are gonna have our own dialect ? Speaking common is good for talking to others, but who would want that all the time ?!
  • Hey! I'd love to chat at you about RP stuff - I've seen you in the public discord, I think. :) Anyway! I'm Sierra =^~^= on there, feel free to drop me a DM. :)
  • Will there be a EU version of this Guild ?
  • Ach I shall keep a canny eye on this laddies! Sounds like just the thing for a granite-headed, stout-hearted fella like myself. Here's hoping our paths cross and until they do may all your kegs be full ones!
  • Oops! My bad for not checking in.

    In order;
A city in a cavern would be neat, but i think to be fair, a simple city carved into a mountain side should suffice so as to not make the humans or other pesky race too jealous of ours.
Was thinking about the cavern city as well and thought how it might be too defensible as compared to an above ground city. Carved out of the mountain side is probably what we can expect.
Hey! I’d love to chat at you about RP stuff
Hi, Sierra! Poke me whenever you see me in discord and we'll find a quiet place to chat. In my old WoW BOI guild the RP was strong and would like to include it where and when appropriate. Won't be an RP only guild but will welcome it.
Will there be a EU version of this Guild ?
There can be but will need someone to step up and spend the incredible amount of time keeping it running smoothly.
Here’s hoping our paths cross and until they do may all your kegs be full ones!
Well met, cousin. I know there be a fair number of us looking to step through the gates and make our way in the world. Hope to see you as well. Good Luck and Good Hunting!
  • Hey brothers. Im looking foward know ll of you in game. We dwarf have to stick together. Im spanish native speaker but can write and speak fluent english. This game got me hype. We should all go same server, same node to start quick getting better and earn 1 of the 6 metropolis the server can have. This race deserves a good metropoli
  • Some info each metropoli can choose economy, religion, scientific or war centric.
With diferent buildings and advantages. Economy can trade with long distance nodes( by far my chooice), scientific got fast travel to nodes only, religion and war no idea.
In the same way choosing leaders works different in each node. Scientific nodes has democratic vote, economical a group
Of the whealtiest, religion the player most helpfull for his node via missions, helpingnothers, money. Warrior nodes the strongest.
All this info is for a video i recently watched from intrepid, hope it helps some of you folks. And hypes us even mureee

Well met, cousin. It is good to see this much interest very early in development. Looking forward to welcoming all the players that are interested in the best race in fantasy.

Whether we're in the same or different guilds it is a near certainty that we could form the backbone of a well functioning server - Be it battling our foes while defending each others cities and caravans, exploring the world for new ore deposits, or just sitting around telling tall tales while fishing the stories a thriving dwarf community could craft might well last for several years.

And to those that are reading this just out of curiosity I say; Welcome to all and here's to seeing you out and about in the world!
  •
Will there be a EU version of this Guild ?

That's what I would love to see on EU servers ;) European forces of hammers and axes straight from the mountains - let's make it real! :D

A Dwarven focused group is something I am also interested in. I just can't see myself with joining the "Brotherhood of Iron." It's an immersion killer for me. I am curious, is this a new guild/place holder for a different group or one that was created for a previous group known as Brothers of Iron. Aka, is there much personal investment into the name? Either way I support your focus 100% and wish you well!
  • "Well met cousin"

As a former member of BOI and now a backer of AoC I will be keeping an eye out for the Brotherhood as the game progresses. I was also in G4 for many years before leaving WoW.

Well, name of the guild is not most important thing, we can use other words. Important is that we should have peace beetween dwarven clans.
Anyway I'm glad to see a lot of people wanting to be in dwarven guild. So do I.

Anyway I'm glad to see a lot of people wanting to be in dwarven guild. We can build while empire with few guilds and I thinks it would be awesome ;) whole server would be awared of atracking the mountains. There're so many options!
    Regards
  • Well name of the guild is not most important thing. We can name it in other way in EU. There's just one thing that would be great to see: all dwarven guilds as unity. As one big kingdom, you know what I mean :)
@Kashcou @Draedin I don't feel this guild name too, but I support this project as well ;)
Name is secondary class issue, so there's no need to split at all ;) (reference to that guilds unity ;p )

Aye, Would love to get together as the weeks roll by after launch and swap stories; what did each do, where are the predominately dwarven cities, how did the rest of the server react to a dwarf-founded city, as well as all the other exciting tales.

Being that the name was a bit from column A and a bit from column B it wasn't designed to adhere to a strict rule, just simply a name that fellow dwarf lovers could hang their hat on. But to each their own.

Please don't hesitate to reach out and ask for an alliance should we find ourselves on the same server. And wishing you well, as well.

Ahh, it warms my heart to see an old face appear. Well met, indeed!

Should you see me on discord over the next few months please don't hesitate to poke me should you wish to strategize on how to invite the rest of the old gang to join us here. I can talk to Adalbjorg and perhaps she has some way of contacting other former BOIs as to a potential new home here.

And again, thank you one and all for your interest in the best fantasy race around and should you see others form dwarf friendly guilds please point them out. We could even find a time to all get together on Discord and talk about how we could help make the game even more enjoyable no matter which servers we find ourselves on.

    Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Hello, In the last couple of minutes I posted a reply to the Brotherhood of Iron thread in Guild Recruitment which has three embedded quotes. After posting it the reply did not appear so I attempted to post the same reply upon which time an error informed me that I had posted the same exact reply already. Below is the text of the reply and would greatly appreciate any assistance you could give in finding this lost little lamb. Thank you, Morashtak --- lost reply text below ---
• A quick six month update -

Still waiting for 2018 and beta to come around. Once there is a firm date we will be reaching out to former members as well as anyone else that has expressed interest here or elsewhere.

Not dead by a long shot, just taking a bit of a nap (hopefully much shorter than Rip Van Winkle's).

  • Whoa... has it already been a year? And now we're into testing. Niiiice.

Time to poke the old guildies and have them take a look.
  • BainSamryn of Dwarvenholt......keep it short ..... dwarven clans should always stick together
