Intro:

Thank you for venturing into our thread and taking a quick look! We are still working out official little tidbits here and there - but one thing is certain: we have structure and logistics - and we're looking for future mayors, warriors, traders, and generally success-driven players. This guild is the creation of recent successful guilds in the last MMOs coming together to bring out the best of both their experiences, as well as fresh new faces from abroad.

We span hundreds of members actively discussing all aspects of the game every single moment. Members in our guild are not just random pvpers or crafters, we have organized teams covering PvP, PvE, and Crafting specifically - coordinated via spreadsheets and a detailed delegation of leadership. Joining this larger guild also means you join a smaller coordinated group.

When it comes to pre-alpha, no other guild is as involved with the community as we are - across wikis, podcasts, and more – we provide both our own members and the community at-large with content weekly. Before even looking at the guild, we'd like to invite you to some of our many projects such as the Ashes of Creation Wiki, or our critically acclaimed podcast "Tales of Creation". We are hard at work at other public projects too, such as our AoC Discord Bot and Skill Builder App.

The community that founded this "guild":

Legacy Gaming

(teamlegacy.net) Legacy is an experienced gaming community boasting 7+ years topping competitive PvP charts, clearing world firsts, and explosive member growth. From their humble beginnings in Warhammer Online to their most recent dominance in Black Desert Online, Legacy Gaming has continually grown and is now one of the most fierce competitors in the MMO scene. Wherever competitive pvp resides in MMOs, Legacy tries their best to be involved in it, and as everyone knows, AoC is where it's soon to be. More on their history, charter and expectations is found on their website. These two communities combine to meet and complement each other's focuses and strengths, allowing for a very comprehensive and multifaceted guild.

Legacy's History

Important Note
While the Legacy Community makes up for the core (coming from Veritas, etc) it is not a requirement to be a part of the community actions. We are not one of those guilds who say "you need to be proactive in the community". We figure if you want to join or be active in community events, you will after time. If you want to be a hermit and just focus on the game with us, that's cool too. Some of our best players are hermit-nerds and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Rank Structure (WIP)

We offer a structure that establishes you into a "squad" for activities, logistics and more. As the guild grows dynamically, more squad leaders are assigned. This ensures that every member regardless of guild size is being accounted for, whether it be loot, crafting mats, raids and more. We do not believe in having leadership holding positions unless they are truly needed.

Member - Can be listed an "Active" or "Inactive". New recruits usually.
Core - Someone fully-linked into our Discord and DKP/Spreadsheets
Lead - A delegate to an officer, overseeing a group of players.
Officer - Individuals that oversee events live, manage leads and their squads.
Council - Active volunteers of the entire guild roster who give opinions and help with direction of the guild.
GMs - The lead of the guild.

Why Join Imperium?

Whether a PvPer, PvEer, Crafter, or similar - we offer features found nowhere else in other guilds. It is also why over so many MMOs we have the highest retention of players compared to so many others who never make it longterm.

PvP Guild Features:

Squads

Squads are the “guilds within the guild” of Imperium. Squads can have members from all guilds alike. They are given their own voice channels, ranks, icons, and more. Being that Imperium as a whole is a very large guild, squads give players the option of being able to hide out and  hang with friends, without feeling forced to be a part of the zerg in a single channel. We encourage small-group play with squads, and go even further to encourage squads to specialize in unique tactics and more.

Callers and Respect

Our guild is led by a myriad of highly-known and respected callers. Simply put – they speak the language needed to get the job done. We cut no corners when it comes to more serious contested content, and consider it a duty to serve our members with a no-nonsense approach. Spend a half-hour with any of our commanders and you will quickly see why our roster remains static and hyped for the next confrontation.

Siege Specialists

Through every game we have played, our biggest strengths have always been on display with macro-managed combat. Our members include some of the most strategic minds around, and in every MMO we’ve encountered we have been on the cutting edge of siege strategies. Due to the way our attendance and reward systems work, we are able to have consistently the largest showing of a roster than most any other guild on our servers.

Arena Focus

Our guilds have historically had a lot of pride in our arena rankings and individual player ability. While we believe in force of numbers as a utility as well, we have yet to meet guilds who excel in small scale combat at the level we do, whether it be 5v5, 10v10 or more. We run monthly tournaments at minimum for our members, requiring each to attend and rank themselves among others in the guild. We do this not only for general rank placement, but to establish respect towards those in the guild who deserve it.

Detailed Comps and Training

We run specific builds and require members to have particular sets of gear and skills for varied events. While we remember to have fun, we do not accept lack of coordination and execution as an excuse for failure. All members train consistently in their specs with class leads overlooking progress. Even as a newer player, consistent progress and attendance ensures a spot in the roster. We tolerate little ignorance to situation awareness and expect common sense.

PvP and Ranks

The ranks of the members are determined strictly by their capability in PvP, over anything else. As you advance in arenas and open world PvP you are given options to test yourself against higher ranks, and in turn, earn more prestigious titles. For most, we simiply judge ranks through a “challenge” and “tournament” setup, where simply challenging and beating a higher-ranked player of your class earns you the right to take their rank, bumping them down to where you were.

PvE Guild Features:

Integrated PvE Profiles

We offer integrations custom coded by our own members that allow us to sync spreadsheets with our Teamspeak and Discord chats seamlessly. For example you can type “/profile” and pull up a detailed profile of your stats anytime. If you missed last night’s run, he can type “/lastnight” and see who was there, what dropped, and far more. We have these commands integrated into a myriad of spreadsheets – the ultimate syncing of Teamspeak, Discord, and Google Docs.

Static Scheduled Raids

Our raiding and dungeon teams fall into “A” and “B” teams. “A team” is our primary hardcore-driven progression group. In raids, they are funneled resources and respect to get the job done, both to benefit the guild in reputation and possible needed gear. Our “B” team consists of individuals who are a bit more relaxed and wish to see content and enjoy the game. Dungeon groups are also formed with similar structure.

Dedicated Crafting Networks

Our guild features extremely in-depth spreadsheets covering crafting, the markets, and more. We have “groups” on Discord who focus on various crafts, and even offer an internal auction house system for member-to-member bulk trades. You can capitalize on the economy by putting in “buy/sell orders” to maximize profits and efficiency. We treat dedicated crafters with the highest respect and give economists the tools they need.

Attendance Tracking

We run events daily, tracked by a calendar that allows you to plan ahead and RSVP when necessary. This is integrated into Google for us, allowing you to sync the events to your smartphone easily, and alert you when it is time. Events are separated into minor/major events, which determines whether attendance is required or just recommended. Accountability is key to performance in our raiding structure. All of this is fully-integrated into Discord for even further tracking, especially for those without a smartphone.

DKP and Loot

Being simply in Discord at the start of an event will count as contribution towards the event. Being there as well during the completion of an event will also net a certain (greater) about of contribution. Contribution is tracked via DKP using algorithms on a spreadsheet. We also track GPP (Gold per player) to track events that are involving generating gold for the guild. All of these numbers are in use for not determining loot, but eligibility to bid.

Loot Distribution

In short, when a weapon or armor piece drops, the DKP tables specific to the boss are pulled and the individuals present are sorted by top 5 or top 10, based on DKP. The top individuals are then given the ability to bid on the loot, with a starting value. The bidding is blind, and the winner is announced. The winning bidder forfeits a set amount of DKP and his winning bid. It’s all simple in practice – attend official events, get guaranteed loot/currency.

Closing Notes:

You can learn a lot more by joining our discord and browsing through our community sites. The three most important things to know are:

1)
We have been around a long time with the same names - we were not created just for this MMO out of a whim, and have refined our guild over many mmos. We know what it takes to continue getting top ranks and "firsts". Simply put, we won't be wasting your time.
2) We invite both casual and hardcore players, PvE and PvP alike. We do not treat hardcore as any more important than casual. That said there are scenarios that call for both.
3) We feel we offer one of the most active AoC guilds around, and invite you to come join and see for yourself. From parents to memers, we have them all. With hundreds of members (really) you can feel like you are actually in an active guild.

Joining up:

If you or your group of friends are interested, pop into Discord and let us know. Challenge yourself to ask us tough questions, see what we have to offer, shop around other guilds, and let us know what you think. If your attitude is "I really want to have the freedom to do this amazing xx idea" - you're probably the type of person we want. That said, if you just want to fight alongside friends and have a good time, there is most definitely a home for you as well.

    The Fun Corner

    Memories, memes, drama

We're not all super-serious and no-fun. While it's true we focus a lot on organization and execution, behind the scenes we love getting to know each other sharing laughs, drama, and anything really from the community. Our discord is 90% laughs and jokes when we're not in an event.

These categories will start small, but as things happen around the AoC community we will add them in.

    Memory Albums

    Legacy History Full of Links

While Vornair is massively successful, they founded for CoE and thus don't have an extensive history under their name. Legacy's history can be found here and is full of all sorts of links to their past. Definately worth a look if you want to see a bit into the Guild Leaders running the show.

    Archeage Album

Legacy entered Archeage later after just finishing our stint in Wildstar. While these images are not organized, you can see the fun we had.

Legacy Black Desert Server First Node War/Territory and First Elephant

    Drama/Salt/Tabloids

As time passes we get a lot of tabloids, drama threads, general hate speech and similar. Its expected as PvPers, and we're not unique. Every PvP group out there has a common bond of knowing with success comes large amounts of salt and conspiracies being thrown at them. We don't hide from even the craziest tabloids, and instead share them with our members for laughs and memories.

    Black Desert Salt

First up is our BDO Salt Mine album, coming from the Legacy community. It's a collection of responses to kills in Black Desert Online at launch when we controlled the server.

Samsta posts Archeage Drama - Imperium Disbanding!

Well, not really. We love our friends in Malicious. Here they want everyone to know that everything you read on the internet is real. Apparently we sold mass amounts of gold and lost all of our members! Really juicy.

Link to the reddit post.  <-- fun read

Teriyaki creates new account anonymously to give you this incredible news

We're bad people apparently, and unprofessional. He wants you to know that. Marketing = evil. Posting on threads we have associations with = evil. We'll be sure to give you top reporting on how we're doing in a year's time, because according to him we'll be gone shortly.

Ascendancy NA GM Says they're gonna get Imperium sued for $150,000 but then changes it to $45,000 for modifying a logo as a placeholder. Update: Then he holds a guild summit, then he continues on and on in PMs.

This is the beginning of your direct message history with @[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul.

    Freelancer-Today at 5:45 PM

the crown logo is placeholder. we have always been clear on our thread about that. this is a sneak peek of our original one for 2018 https://puu.sh/y3Oew/012a3abd3d.png
im aware you're going around trying to stir up trouble.

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 5:46 PM

Lol You're mistaken. I haven't shared any information with anyone other than your allied leader. Are you aware that you've already breached US trade agreement and are liable for a $150,000 fine?

    Freelancer-Today at 5:47 PM

I'm not sure you are familiar with how the internet works.
Nexus is a not an ally my friend.

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 5:47 PM

Lol I'm going to have to stop you there. Your organization makes money. You've already Violated trade agreement.

    Freelancer-Today at 5:48 PM

    "organization" what org is that?

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 5:48 PM

The one labeled as Imperium with a patreon.
If you've ever recieved income and cannot prove that the income was recieved at a time you did NOT have the "crown" logo then you are liable to be sued.

    Freelancer-Today at 5:49 PM

Do you know the definition of "income" ?

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 5:50 PM

Easy friend, I brought this to your attention because someone else brought it to mine. Ascendancy is a diplomatic guild and like we advertised, we ARE the good guys. I asked my on-call legal consultant about it and his prelim is that Wizards of the coast can very well sue you BUT
Like I said, I haven't brought this to anyone's attention but yours and Zaras.
This was a friendly gesture and it still is.
If you're asking me to send them an email this woudn't be the first time someone who called me "ignorant" indirectly regretted it

    Freelancer-Today at 5:52 PM

I did not call you ignorant.
I said you dont understand some of the terms you used, which is especially important.

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 5:52 PM

For a professional you have a very harsh way with words.

    Freelancer-Today at 5:53 PM

I am sorry if im coming across harshly.

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 5:53 PM

Lol it's alright. I can understand, in that situation, why you'd feel that way.
No harm no foul. Again, I only brought it to your attention because it was brought to mine. Consider this entire sitution under the rug
I understand that but legally, and more specifically you're "organization" as I called it falls under the category of non-profit organization. Having a patreon or any form of crowd-funding platform attatched to the organization is a federal offense but I'm only here to make friends  We're the good guys.
    non-profit association*

    Freelancer-Today at 5:57 PM

    You are again wrong. Lol.

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 5:57 PM

    sorry.
Lol please relax. The very fact that you re-hashed their logo with obvious comparisons immediately quallifies you to be sued for copywright infringement

    Freelancer-Today at 5:59 PM

I dont think you understand what copyright infringment is
would you like me to explain it?

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 5:59 PM

I've been in a court room several times so I'll put it this way

    Freelancer-Today at 5:59 PM

Would you like me to explain it?

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 5:59 PM

The fact that you made any money means WotC sue you.
for a minimum of $45,000 in royalties

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 6:00 PM

Any unregistered organization is legally classified as a non-profit association

    Freelancer-Today at 6:00 PM

    LOL
    no it is not
good lord who is feeding you this?
    this is meme central

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 6:01 PM

No one feeds me anything, I'm a leader not a follower and I do my own research and consult with my own professionals

    Freelancer-Today at 6:01 PM

    Then you need better professionals.
    lol
    this is quite funny

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 6:02 PM

I will tell you this though: Regardless of trade laws you refuse to believe you've violated, anyone or anything linked to "Imperium" has recieved money while using that logo
and an email goes out there WILL be legality issues.

    Freelancer-Today at 6:02 PM

I tell you what. Send a email or letter to WotC and share with them this conversation  They will also get a good laugh.
You are acting like you know exactly how all of this works, but are completely fucking up the terminology

[ASC] Mr Pragmatic the Blue Soul-Today at 6:02 PM

I'm not going to do that because as I've said from the start my intentions are peaceful.
You have a nice day now. Ok?

    Freelancer-Today at 6:03 PM

Create a reddit thread, or something
The fact you thought Nexus was allied to me was originally the funny part, and spoke to your "research" and "sources"

I dont know if you intended on trolling or not.

I guess we're allied with Nexus now? This guy DOES have good sources!

Update: He notices we took this convo public and decides to call the entire community into a "guild summit".

and of course his message/threat to me he's doing a meeting..

Meeting proceeds. It doesnt go as planned. Whole recording here.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix5nA8i3MhU&feature=youtu.be

After the meeting, he continues to berate guild leaders who attended, including myself/Freelancer.

His EU guild disbands and he loses half of his 4 NA members. He is now a 2-3 man guild.

    Next day, messages me again.

    RIP Ascendancy 2017-2017.

Sadly not anymore drama yet, but we'll be updating this here when we can!
Note: For anyone reading the above seriously, don't ask the GMs here about it, ask literally any member - we have nothing to hide :)

  • Hello there! I’ve noticed that this guild has RP elements, and we at the unofficial RP community Ashes of Creation Roleplay would like to extend our invitation. This is not an attempt to steal guild members, as we are not a guild, ourselves, but if any of your members (present or future) would like to find a community of guilds and players alike to share RP content with, be sure to check us out! The link is located in my sig below and we have a discord, as well.

<strong>Vornair </strong>(<a href="http://forums.vornair.com/forums" rel="nofollow">vornair.com</a>) is a kingdom that has become the largest player-driven community in Chronicles of Elyria , consisting of over 2000 active players spanning across more than 50 discords. It consists of a myriad of experienced crafters, politicians, economists, RPers and much much more. The best part about Vornair is that it has become a place where anyone with an interest in any MMO, let it be casual or hardcore, has somewhere they can call home. There is no stronger or more well-known name than Vornair across the CoE community.

Luckily for AoC we have a 3 GM system that we are running on. Additionally, this would be far from my first rodeo in leading multiple games at once. The trick is having awesome support and delegates whom I trust to cover their bases. Also, the fact that I work from home and far to much time on my hands is clearly evident. If you are at all familiar with the amount of time and effort that I put into the CoE community in the last year and a half, then you know very well what kind of time capacity I have. :-) To me these are two completely different games, one is about instant gratification, the other about long haul commitments / long term engagements. Both can be led, managed, and played by the same players no differently than playing two games at once. Which all of us have done in the past. The beauty of this combination is that I truly believe you can play both AoC and CoE simultaneously in a competitive fashion just because of the nature of each game. Two completely different games, two completely different styles, easily playable side by side. Its pretty much a gaming community's wet dream.

Happy to answer any additional questions :-) .

Two completely different games, two completely different styles, easily playable side by side. Its pretty much a gaming community's wet dream. Though I cant stress enough that its only doable because of the support that I have from the leadership teams on both games.

Happy to answer any additional questions :-) .
  • @calidor Luckily for AoC we have a 3 GM system that we are running on. • @calidor Luckily for AoC we have a 3 GM system that is pretty fantastic. As Free said we all work from home, and have a rediculous amount of gaming time over the course of a day. Our leadership teams for both AoC and CoE are phenominal and free up a load of time on myself and the other GMs so that we are able to devote more time doing what we do best. Additionally, CoE and AoC are two fundamentally different games, one fills the need for instant gratification, the other for long term goal oriented campaigns. Because of this I and a number of others believe that just due to the fundamental differences and the styles of the two games it is possible to play both at the same time competitively.

Anyone who has followed me in CoE knows very well how much time I have put in over the last year and a half to that community and game and I am happy to continue my support and drive there. However, they also know based on how much work I've put in over there how much time I have available for these two games.

That being said :-) the biggest reason I am able to support and build communities in both games is due to the excellent leadership teams we have for both communities. I cant overstate it enough, being able to trust and delegate their pieces to them is what keeps us functioning in a state above the rest and what enables me to have the time and dedication to help head up both of these initiatives. Anyone who has ever ran a gaming community should be familiar with running multiple initiatives at once, and multiple games at once within their community. This isnt a new thing, but the way we have built our community is very different and keeps our leadership teams well engaged and freed up to not completely lose their lives and all of their free time in any singular game.

I hope you can see that in the Imperium guild structure as well. :-) Free to answer any additional questions you might have.

  • I literally have no life. Plenty of time for me to lead the Stormlands and Imperium, especially given the release time tables that I am expecting from both games.

Having 2 other GMs who have just as much time as I do and are just as capable if not more so than I am is extremely valuable.
