I Can't Pay Taxes - Now What?

If the node or whatever has a tax - is that a consumption tax or just an all-around tax as in holdings? What happens IF we can't pay a tax or log off for some time? Are our freeholds forfeit and fall in disrepair? Or could it be the complexity and details of those are still being figured out. Sometimes you just can't pay 'those stinking taxes' when you fall an hard times. Send out the AOC IRS? Best, Skaff.

Yes, you don't pay your taxes your stuff is packed up and mailed to you. It is a mechanic that was planned from the beginning to avoid the abandoned structure blight that other games with open world housing have had.
Please give a citation that shows you lose your freehold. Nothing is lost, it is just packed up and mailed to you and can be placed again. They have never stated a time limit on placing it again. In fact, as a mechanic to save someones progress when they have to take an extended break from the game or just quit it works great on paper. This comment of "the space goes up for sale" is also confusing. To place a freehold you have to get permission from the controlling node, it does not sell you a "plot"
Maybe the mechanic for siege loss is what you are referencing?
This is what I meant by having a limited time and it going up for sale in the fact that if there is enough competition for freehold spaces then they will be taken pretty quickly should an owner fail to maintain it.
It sounds like AoC is using the same system. I’ll say it worked fine in those old games, and SWG was released 16 years ago so this is nothing new. Don’t worry about this being some new untested feature that won’t work out.
