Think having deities with complex natures is a good point, otherwise why not have Norlan foreseeing future obstacles and controlling/dominating the narrative of what players end up doing.

I don't really want to jump into conclusions since the religious lore is not going to be addressed until the game is launched, but judging by the little pieces we already have it seems to be a lot of the same we already have in fantasy movies, books and games, hope I'm wrong tho...
