  • What will be the benefits of citizenship in a religious metropolis?
  • Crafting Question -

The concept of a "crafting suite" has been brought up twice now, is that idea still solidly under consideration?  Additionally, regardless of the suite existing, how customisable will you allow gear to be that's produced by crafters?  Are we looking at just swapping some colors, hilts and blades, or more serious levels of modifications.  Also, if production crafters are going to see the chance to make their marks on goods, what kind of system are we looking at for processors to make that a compelling draw?

In the videos we have seen the trebuchets in the sieges appear to fire large rocks, will we be able to fire other objects? rotten animals for a disease debuff or fling players over the walls to infiltrate the city?
  • Will eating food in a Tavern have different affects than food consumed out in the world?
To clarify a bit lets say a pie gives a 10% speed buff with a duration of 30 minutes when used outside of a tavern now when consumed in a tavern the buff is now 25% with a duration of an hour. This was an idea i had to promote more activity inside taverns to give them a more realistic busy feel.
  • Just how extensive will the racial traits be, will they provide a utility skill much like the classes do? Will each race be viable for each class, or will their be a bottleneck for hardcore players to select certain races in order to min/max?
  • Jeff made a reference to guild housing in the DJ Techlive Q&A. Does this refer to the existing types of guild structures, such as guild halls, fortresses and castles, or does this refer to guild owned player housing?
  • What experience system will we be using? will we have a multitude of skills that must be levelled individually or will we simply get experience and level that way like most other MMOs
  • Question
Will the character screen being inspectable by others? Will they be able to see how we set our our specifications and gear? For example.
  • Will there be an indication of how "plump" a caravan is for looting and will we be able to load caravans with worthless, dummy items if we choose to pay the cost on them to create decoys that people will attack, then find out that they were fooled.
  • Will Caravans have set routes, or will we be able to take them anywhere we please?
  • Can our characters be a cross between 2 races?
    Elf/human elf/dwarf ect...
  • Games like Archeage and Star Wars Galaxies (I don't know very much about the ladder, although my father was on the development team) included incredible player interaction with the world like fishing, hunting, treasure finding, farming, mining, etc. Are you planning to include sandbox elements like this in your artisan classes, or is that progression not going to be tied to the game world? If you are planning on including artisan progression tied to the game world, are there going to be artisan classes that strictly employ world interaction (like a fishing class), and how is that going to play into the world economy (ex. special dishes that can only be prepared with player-caught fish)?

When will you be doing the PAX giveaway and what will it include?
  • Will there be penguins in Ashes?
  • Question: will you be adding a rp/g like profile sheet in game so rpers & other players could add a backstory and describe what to they seek as well as in character(ic) or (ooc) out of character status. As for no -rp players it can be a way to show people achivements or recruitment for guild and what they seek etc.

To make it lore friendly have it like a citizen ID book of sorts or something alike.

@T-Elf I'm pretty certain the caravan routes are fixed between node destinations and have a "set time". Many players can use the caravans at once - and I think it's more like a bus aha Carrying your shopping for a-b. You may need to go Node to Node to Node to travel far.

    Hi,

Last stream you mentioned that components of caravans will be player crafted.  Does this mean just parts of the caravan are player crafted or the whole caravan?  More generally, are things in the world going to be completely dependent on players to craft them?

    Keep making a great game!

    @Cotesworth
We know so far that this is the aim for Intrepid. Fishing will be an artisian trade and various other artisian trees such as mining, logging will be present but not all have been mentioned but we know we will have a wide selection. The gathering and crafting design of the game is going to be very in depth and very interactive player to player and environmentally.
For example we know that mining will be seen as more of a large quarry that everyone can mine at until it's depleted. It then disappears and respawns at a random time and location elsewhere in the world. Then for crafting/processing you need to bring your supplies to your freehold/craft stations and what's not to further use your materials. You can specialise in specific items or be a jack of all trades. Some items will need you to travel from node to node to sell/buy/exchange goods thus you need to use a caravan to transport goods from node to node. We know aswell that for fishing etc it will likely be used in cooking and other crafting and you can prepare special dishes that you can sell in node markete or on your freehold.
Pretty much everything we see in Ashes will be recycled into making other useable items in the game :)
Ofc this is a wee summary and all will be explained better and in more depth over the months to come ^^

Will Ashes of creation include a macro system?

Pretty simple question but it is a great quality of life tool for players to use :)

If you are planning game against "Zerg", will it be usefull to create Guild's skills and features for All of Guild's members?

Follow the right side, Obi Van  ;)
  • When players first arrive, will the world be completely fresh and empty, or will there be a number of large static (not node-related) established NPC communities/cities around the areas of the gates or elsewhere?
  • I'm not sure if this has been answered yet even though I've watched every single stream and I've red forums actively.. Is it possible to carry two weapons slotted, 2-handed and sword and shield for example. Does these two weapons have an skill list of their own which you can quickly swap to just by switching weapons, just like in ESO?

Can one use tamed pets as guards for freeholds (excluding summoner)-especially after ones own node has been successfully seiged?

    Thank you @Diura .
New question: Will we be able to add location markers and side notes in the map interface?
  • Will this game allow you to change between first and third person views? Please add first person view as I believe it creates a greater immersion.

@Wraeven Hi there! This will depend on when a player joins the community ^^ From head start (or an on day launch server) the world will be empty asides from a few npcs who have set up encampments just before our arrival; ) These will be bases for our nodes ;) If a player joins us weeks after launch various nodes will already have begun developing ^^

@JayAlabaster hi there! For now we know that non-summoner pets will be non-combat pets and thus won't be used to defend a freehold. Pets will be cosmetic or used for a battle pet system  (perhaps like wow)
  • @ShunexHello,

I have seen the Guild Recruitment forum, but I haven't seen the specifics on how guilds can be created in the game.  I am trying to decide if I want to promote Ashes of Creation to my guildmates on the current MMORPG that I play on (I am the guild leader there).  But, before I do that, I want to have a better understanding on how one can create a guild on AoC.  So, here is my question...

How will a player be able to create a Guild on Ashes of Creation (please give all requirements, not a general comment)?

Thank you for considering my question. :)

  • Can we Dig/ Excavate ? In other words, can Players interact with the Ground ?
