Sidemissions during sieges?

So, I came over this silly thing:

It's one of the AoC videos but redone with a silly voiceover etc. It got me thinking however, wouldn't it be supercool if, during and just about as a siege is about to start, if there could be sidemissions like for instance stealthily invading and opening the gates, or removing some barrier that helped protect the city. Perhaps stealing some of the weapons making any NPCs defending weaker; and to counter this make the opposing side aware of the possibility of these invasions and enable them to counter them in some fashion.
