Phase I of Alpha Two testing will occur on weekends. Each weekend is scheduled to start on Fridays at 10 AM PT and end on Sundays at 10 PM PT. Find out more here.

    First off, welcome to our ever expanding community! Hope you enjoy our stay, the ashes discord is here https://discord.gg/p3W7Kw and everyone there is lovely!
    Unfortunately, as the game is still very much pre-alpha we have no idea when the beta testing will begin.... However, I.S have stated the game will be completely finished by 2020. I think I read somewhere that the alpha/beta will start sometime next winter, probably closer to 2019.

    Oh wow a long time away huh?  I've been reading in different sections, and a misplaced question here: This will have a tab target system?  If the combat can't compete with action combat mmorpgs it's an instant fail IMO.  So many games like this come in to the market and within 6 months the servers shut down.  It will need to be in the wheel house of games like Tera, Neverwinter, BnS, even Age of Conan style would be fun, but if it is old school it just won't make it.  I really hope the devs decide to do a full action combat system.  I was looking to help out with kickstarter but until I see a full action combat system, I can not.  *FINGERS CROSSED*  The game looks amazing.

    Well, my friend, the reason it is so far away is that the game designers do want to make it right! They are trying their very best to appeal to the combat system loyalists, lore, storyline, graphics and unfortunately, that does indeed take some time. However, there are plenty of nice people on the forums so if you are considering sticking around I would highly recommend it!  :)

    Welcome to the ashes community. Alpha 0 (invite only nda) is sometime this year. Alpha 1 is scheduled for Dec 2018 release is scheduled for <2020 dates given are to provide room for unforseen events, so things may happen sooner.

    They are planning a hybrid between tab target and action combat so it will be interesting to see what they come up with... there will be a showing of some of the combat at pax but is only going to be about 20% of what combat is going to feel like according to the devs

    I'm not bailing yet, just got here!  I really want to see how the combat system in action.  I don't mind hybrids if they are done well.  The game looks and looks like it feels amazing to play.  The impact of the skills looks great, everything looks great really.  Can't wait to see what they show @ PAX.  Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

    Welcome and the open beta I believe is scheduled around early to mid 2019 but closed beta starts around The end of 2018. For the closed beta you would've needed to back the game on its Kickstarter or Summer Fund raiser, these have both now expired and you can no longer back the game but I am sure that they might do another one. :sunglasses:
