Freehold Items in Shop

Land ownership is going to be somewhat scarce correct? Most likely held by the largest Guilds and not attainable by most? So buying one of these Shop Freeholds would be a real gamble? You could end up buying something you never actually get to use?

Can't really say atm but if the available land is anything like we saw in AA then it shouldn't be that hard to get a spot, especially if you really want one. Yes, the prime spots will probably be snatched up by dedicated players but there will be other places.

Incorrect. At least very unlikely. Freehold will be able to be placed anywhere within a nodes ZOI, as long as that terrain isnt obstructed. Considering how big the map is, and that all land falls within different nodes ZOI, everyone should really be able to get a spot. Additionally, freeholds can be destroyed after a successful node siege I believe. So that will clear up land as well.
On a side note, it is player housing that will be seemingly much more limited. Player housing and freeholds are two different systems.

Unlike other games that have had place anywhere open world housing in the past like SWG as an example they are limiting freehold ownership to one per account. Taxes on them to prevent abandoned structures. And a bunch of other things to make the system better than earlier attempts by others. A BurntheFern pointed out above, freehold placement can be anywhere, including the Underrealm if it meets the requirements put out by Intrepid.

Thanks all, great info! Finally a Dev is going to enforce one plot per Account. That's great news if that holds true.

Also note that freeholds are one form of player-owned housing. There is still node housing and apartments. If you want space within a node you should not have too much trouble getting one via the apartments. Depending on your goals, it may not make sense to own a freehold in game.
