Will we see this game moved to Unreal Engine 5?

With all the new games coming out, I have seen the use of Unreal Engine 5. So I was wondering if this game will get moved to that format? I know it's not out yet, and this is why I am asking, but hey I am still ok with the current engine, I was just wondering if a plan was in place to move to the next level. Thx

sample of it on a different game.

They answered it a few different times. They look at all advances in tech and then implement those that fit within their current timeframe and budget. UE5 I think was addressed in the latest livestream. Will see if I can find a link for ya.

Their choice to go with Unreal 4 was kind of a headturner because it wasn't really a proven MMO platform at the time since not alot of MMOs were using it. I think they are probably fine still running on Unreal 4.

For anyone else who was looking for an actual answer...

They haven't made a decision one way or the other about migrating to UE5. They will let us know when they do.

UE5 is future tech. It’s called “next gen” for a reason. There are no games now running on it, and Fortnite will reportedly swap to it next year but we’ll see. If AoC swapped to UE5 that would be a really, really bad sign. It would mean the game would be really delayed, I wouldn’t expect it any earlier than 2023. I’d go so far to say that trying to swap engines to something this raw would kill the project.

Whatever the official stance is, there isn’t a snowball’s chance in Hell that they are moving to the new engine. Mark my words here.
