Since servers will advance differently, it would give you an advantage to jump to the servers that are doing something that would advance you faster. And just think of the servers themselves. One of them opens up a certain dungeon. All other servers drop significantly as most people jump to that one.
Jahlon you must be the youtuber who post Ashes news. I had watched your videos. I would like to hear what Steven stance on this.
For example: We know that only strongest/biggest guilds are the only that controls most territories, smaller guilds just don't stand a chance against a big guild defending which leads to stagnation. It leads some guilds to jump off the server which they should be playing due to ping into Oceania server for example - totally outplaying community here. It's a loose-loose situation since both smaller server players are unhappy of having no chance to get their territory and when people are playing on servers with 200+ ping their overall experience and retention is much worse.
Smaller guilds switch server because they have no fun or economic possibilities in their main server so they go to bully small servers (Oceania)
If you want to knock out a big guild from a castle, just get a bunch of other guilds together and take them out. Just remember that smaller guilds are more powerful (you have to give up enhancements to allow more bodies).
Why would you have to jump servers? Just siege them.
Well since OCE/SEA is going to get a server center, they won't have that problem. Plus, Ashes of Creation has prime-time for servers when the main events happen (sieges)
They do not want people transferring servers because its a lot of work for them to put that in, plus they don't want groups with advantages (information) moving to different servers.
They did talk about what would happen if server merges were required.
But at this point, I'm more of a fan of letting them build the game and then letting them figure out what they need to do fix the fuck ups later.
However, if a guild controls a castle, they want the nodes in that castles territory to do well. Nodes doing well require small, medium and large guilds - as each has a place within the node structure as per game design.
This means that unless you are at a point where you are challenging for a castle, those large guilds should not be chasing you anywhere, as they want you in their territory.
On the other hand, if you are in the position where you are contesting a castle, contest one that is not the one whose territory you are currently in, as that way if you lose you didn't damage your relationship with that guild.
This is all much easier than running off to another server.
