Question on basic loot

It probably is a silly question to ask, but where will our basic weapons, armor, and other gear come from in this game? Outside of hunting dungeons and raiding world bosses, where can we expect to get our basics from in order to take on these challenges? Will any gear drop from standard mobs, quests, or have to be crafted to get anywhere? Also what would typical mobs all over the land drop? Just experience? I am curious on this if anyone knows.

    Most stuff will drop materials and you need to find a crafter to make what you need.
    Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.
