Goddess of Love

T ElfT Elf Member, Braver of Worlds, Kickstarter, Alpha One
I hope I'm not stepping on any toes here; but the image we have been presented as the goddess of Love seems more fitting to be the image of the goddess of Lust with her underwear looking raiment like she is a hooker. I would really like to see an image that is more "loving" than lustful; unless lustful is what you ment to portray.

That's exactly the goddess of love I was hoping for! More Dibella than Mara....

I agree here. Love has always been portrayed as a young women scantily clad. I'd be totally down to see a grandmother (with proper attire) as the goddess of love. If love is truly at the essence of this being, what better than a grandmother showing love for all things and baking some delicious chocolate chip cookies for a weary traveler.

Have they just released new images, by the way?

Nope. Give me Aphrodite or give me nothing.
Love starts with lust and then develops.
I dont care for no grandmother looking goddess of love. She can be the goddess of family/house.

What kind of cult would a loving mommy figure inspire? The mommy boys cult?

Some things dont need to be complicated because instead of making them more meaningful, they lose their core identity.

I'm all for gods being cookie cutter types.

In addition, I'd like you to picture the image of god of war as old fat filthy rich merchant eating grapes with 2 slaves holdings leaf fans beside him, instead of an armor clad strong looking angry man.

Often, but not always, and not necessarily more scantily clad than her male counterparts.

For example, the Greeks and Romans were obsessed with capturing the perfect human form in their art, particularly for their deities, and as a result the male deities of the time tended to be painted and sculpted just as devoid of clothing as Aphrodite/Venus. As males, we simply tend to pay the scantily clad female depictions more notice ;) .

Would love a link to image in question, along with any other Vera deities in comparison, for a more informed opinion, as I don't seem to be able to google it up.

Those are the Dervish Avatars from Guild Wars, aren't they? Dwayna, Lyssa, Melandru, and Grenth.

He's obviously just so desperate to make his content, that he's just recycling other franchises' images.

Most likely, the Goddess of Love will be a pale-skinned, blonde-haired, blue-eyed, scantily clad coquette.
