Will animation cancelling be a thing?

If so, will it strictly be for abilities or will it also apply to basic meele and range attacks? I think it might be okay for abilities, but terrible for basic meele/range attacks as it's redundant due to us already having root body motion and animation cancelling could potentially add to the basic combat feeling even more floaty

I'm fine if there's the ability to, say, cast teleport in the middle of a long casting charge-up meteor spell to avoid an incoming attack, but cancelling the spell animation should cancel the spell altogether. What I don't like is animation cancelling where the effect still happens but you essentially shorted the animation intended to cast.
