Will there be an EVE online style economy with short term and longterm charts, volumes etc?

How far will the game go with it's economy? In EVE (and albion online as well) i love the player driven economy and that you can get rich from the market itself. I love the big charts with short to very long timeframes, volumes, excel spreadsheeting etc. Calculating profits from refining or crafting is cool.

What i would love is things like finance, banking, companies and stockmarkets, maybe even options or futures. But i think that most MMO's would hate complexity like that.

What do you guys think?

But my guess is no, not like Eve Online. I have asked for it myself, including some basic stuff like buy orders, and even though they have said they have taken some inspiration from Eve, I don't think they meant the full economy aspects.

I suspect that if there are no DPS meters, there will likewise not be any other analytical tools.

The dev answer to both of those is No.

You'll get a combat log and ingame tools though.

i'm against economy based tools.
If someone wants to play the market, then he should have to put the time in to understand it rather than being spoonfed all the necessary information through different interfaces.

In my opinion, economic nodes should absolutely provide players with detailed economic data (similar to price data available in EVE). If that's not an option, I expect players will track data by updating/sharing spreadsheets. That wouldn't be the end of the world, but it doesn't sound very fun.

spreadsheets would have to be maintained for each individual server, which makes it less likely that there will be available information for many of the servers where progress/trading guilds aren't present.

If there is value behind the information, then people will also be less willing to share it.

Which is fine. That readily available plethora of information isn't a positive aspect of modern MMOs.

You're right, @Warth.

The market is actually end game for some players.

I'm kind of excited that Ashes is giving an auction house option (in the economic nodes) for players that want it. Players that don't want it can participate in another node if they wish (or not). A lot of freedom of choice there.
