Nodes names

As we well know, nodes will be leaded by players, by selectig a major and that kind of stuff. But who will name the nodes? When setting a node into city mode for example, are we going to be able to name the node as we want, or are we able to select within a list of possible names for the node? will the node have a pre-set name?

Personally I think it would kinda ruin the inmersion if people can randomly name nodes like ''Crap Village''.

I suddenly want to name a node LazyTown.
But then who to RP as?

Hmmm...

At the very least, it would give a home for Stuffertons to fit in.

wonder if it be like localised names like this node could be 1 of 5 names or everynode can pick a name from a pool of like 300 but cant take one thats already taken

Perhaps they could develop an approval process, so node mayors could propose a name and have it approved by the active GM within a few hours or a day or something.

I find the question of "when can a node's name change?" far more interesting/concerning.

Are we supposed to just learn and talk about one node for ages, then suddenly the official name changes, but some people are using the old one because they didn't know, some are using it because they don't care, another set is using it because they don't like the new name, and new (to the node) players are just getting confused, while the months long holy cold war continues and both sides get annoyed at each other, a new mayor is elected and changes the name to yet another thing... I could go on.

The scenario gets progressively more ridiculous, but never actually implausible, and all the confusion of the early stages is practically guaranteed.

They should do something similar for guilds,
Atleast then the guilds, city's and lore belong in the same universe together.

It's probly one of the most important things, Ussually if I would imagine a guild.
I need to look up some lore and more information of the universe. To use elements from it.

But it's great news that atleast the city you live in has a proper name.

The guilds with names not fitting in the universe u can just ignore, not read or procces any memory for.
But the city names would keep comming back. Or could become key locations, You often return too.

Would it be the same for the INN/Taverns?
Or could they still mess that up?

Intrepid has said that for any player generated content (this means things you name, like pets, mounts, signage, boats, and others) there will be robust reporting options for them. Sure, you can play the fool, or express your latent racism, but if you break whatever TOS/code of conduct rules Intrepid has set for their game, you will subject to account action. Like any game reporting system, it may not be instant and take a bit before they get to it, but you can bet eventually they will.

I wonder how immersivity diverse it will be considering the total being 30 to choose from. Will there be two nodes named the same thing across the server? or is it more deep than that and provides with 30 more suitable to location and racial participation IE dwarf vs orc contribution factors? size/tier of the node. Multi-leveled names such as Village "insert name" of the river lands

Someone stated there is a predetermined list. This makes sense and very plausible. I would think if they did not have that it would be a node named after the region. As the node is in that region. So easy for everyone to understand what node you reference in any type of chat.
