Dear ashes of creation management, be sure because of the ridiculous dollar load in Turkey, 70% of them will not be able to play this game, please bring a price for us, my respects

Certain regions will have "harmonized" subscription prices that better reflect their local economies. Harmonized regions will be segregated from other regions.[5]

We'll know if your country will be included (or not) closer to launch, @elsies67 ... but at least the devs have confirmed they've thought about it.

Sure, you can register with a VPN to pay a cheaper price. But you are locked into that server. So if you are say from the US, and trying to pay the cheaper Brazil price. You are going to be playing on that specific Brazil harmonized server. So you may have gotten a cheaper sub, but you locked into that one specific server, which since is localized to that region, will be full of whatever language is dominant there, (good luck if you don't speak Portuguese), and have to deal with a shittier ping in a PVX game. Your overall location will not determine how much you pay, what servers you play on will.

Assuming the Ashes subscription payment model is the same as the vast majority of MMOs ... a player's account information and local payment method defines their country of residence, @unknownsystemerror.

    That way VPN doesn't matter.

Here's a link from the Steam Support FAQ as an example.

It implies, they will do better than Steam, so I'm not sure it will work. A lot of people have VISA cards Revolut or Wise where you can put whatever the country you want. And for example Turkey will certainly be connected to European servers.

The best thing Steam found to fight against fraud was to keep discount for countries with lower revenues is to allow change of country every 3 months minimum.

As unknownsystemerror said, if you pay a harmonised price for a different area, you'll be tied to that cheaper server:

If they do harmonise it, it will be by itself.

It is a totally different situation.

Steam only has the ability to allow or not allow access to software. If you are in Turkey and buy a game, you then have the same access to that game as someone from, say, Canada. Steam have no say at all in that access, thus if people can use a VPN or some such to get access to that software cheaper, they get the same software.

Intrepid, on the other hand, don't have that limitation. If you pay for access in Turkey, at a cheaper price, you are on a Turkey specific server.

Thus, if you are in Canada and use that same tactic as above, you would then find yourself in Canada, with a subscription to Ashes that is based in Turkey, with players from Turkey, and with a prime time (thus events, sieges etc) all happening during prime time in Turkey.

This person in Canada does not have the ability to play with someone paying the Canadian price, they need to get a different subscription (a Canadian one) in order for that to be possible.
