Please submit your question for our development team in the thread below, and we'll select 10 of them at random to answer during the end of our livestream.     For freeholds, will giving permissions to guild members count towards the previously stated 9 person cap associated with families or is it a separate number?

    Since the world was increased by nearly 3x in size and the total number of nodes has decreased, has the size of a Metropolis increased as well? Or has it stayed the same 0.5km in diameter?

    Hello, I'd like to learn more about how Node Sieges/warfare will be conducted. Could you update us on a general overview of objectives, capture points, if the node itself will be used during the siege, how many points of entry will need to be defended simultaneously, how rosters will be filled and if any control will be given to governors or guilds, etc.?

    Second question regarding zvz pvp design, can you describe your intent with ability/combat design in regards to army movement patterns?

    I'm hoping large scale combat is disbursed and not a forced zerg ball meta always. I'd love to see more spread out combat with agency encouraged for individual players rather than hive tactics w/one caller and 100+ robotic players forced to play in the aoe support ball to survive. I want to see combat be chaotic and with a multitude of attack/defense points being contested at once for more interesting group combat. Its one aspect New World got right.

    Looking forward to this video. Oh, and is the plan still to move forward with pvp being allowed in cities/towns as pvp vs afk players I don't know if that is compelling gameplay players desire. As a pvp player myself I've never found interest in killing someone in a town while they stand idle at a Trading Post shopping in a UI menu. I see no value.

    What is the intent for potion consumption during active combat? Will we chug potions regularly or will there be a moderate cooldown?

    talking about average players, will having a freehold be the best way to be rich? will there be other ways for people focused on pve or pvp (not being corrupt)?

    PD: just to clarify, not asking about goals, i'm asking about being rich, i misswrote my question last month and it was missinterpreted

    Can we get a bit more info about story arcs, specifically about their influence on the world and players.

    For example, in the last showcase, what happens if another group unleashes zombies while my group is still fighting the minotaurs? Do they just turn into zombies? Will it be possible for my group to finish the quest requirements? ...

    When you add new content that may be locked behind node progression, will there be something along the lines of a Special Seasonal Event to allow players to more quickly unlock that new content – or can we expect new content to drop for all nodes simultaneously?

    Also I work in tech in San Diego so Steven if you want to play a round at Torrey and – I don't know – maybe let me know when Alpha 2 is dropping, lmk! :wink:

    For a Story Arcs that become Canon on a server, will the final result of the arc be determined by the decision made by the first completion, or will it be an aggregate of everyone who completes the arc counted as votes?

    E.G. Guild "Hardcore" beats the story arc first and decides to kill the professor in Carphain whilst 60% of the players who complete the same arc decide to spare the professor. Which would be canon once the timed event/arc ends?

    How many players (minimum) would you expect it would take to build up a node at each of it's stages?

    From an expedition to a metropolis.

    Ex: 10 players to make an expedition / 25 to make an encampment / 50 to make a village

    If you don't have a minimum number of players.

    Can you give an idea of what a focused group of 50 players could accomplish (reasonably) in regards to building up a node?

    Can weapons mounted on boats deal damage to players?

    According to the wiki, some mountable creatures will be able to develop certain combat abilities based on their breed. How do you intend on making it evident to players in a PvP scenario what types of abilities they might anticipate from an enemy’s mount if its owner has a skin of another breed applied to it?

    Steven could you talk about the requirements for Guilds Levels to:

    Increase member slots
    Participate in castle sieges
    Form official alliances
    Acquire guild passives?

    I posted a reddit post a year ago about wishing there was a boar mount in the game, this month by chance you released a boar mount. I'm wondering if this was a coincidence or the developers viewed my post and acted on it

    Will it be necessary for people to turn against their own nodes to unlock new content? Say an endgame group wants to get new gear, will it be commonplace that they destroy their metropolis to level a nearby node for that gear?
