Is the naming requirement going to be based off a unique first name or a combination of first/last?

Right now there might be 20 people who want to be Mclightning, however its less likely of those 20 that they all want the same last name. Can we have unique name requirements apply to both the first and last names?

    They are unique per server. Names are on a first come, first served basis. Their stated plans for naming and everything they have said is on the wiki. Link provided.

    First come First serve based on the first name being unique or both first and last names combined ?

    I expect that 'Name' means name. As in, John Smith's name is 'John Smith' which includes both his first and last names. 'John' (without a last name) is also a name, so there could only be one John (no last name) on a server.

    tbh they should have surname that are account based so every character on the account shares the same last name, just makes it harder to be scummy on one char and hide on another :p

    You can, you just may be limited in the first while after launch as to those numbers. They don't want people to do what was being said above and take up account slots on various servers when they are limiting caps for the beginning. Gotta remember, initially the numbers are 8-10k concurrent with 15k registered per server, eventually ramping up to 50k over time. If they allow people to create on multiple servers to name farm, it artificially inflates the numbers registered. The same if they allow someone to make 8 alts in the first 5 minutes to name lock farm. My bet is that they end up doing what a few of the latest mmos have done on launch. Have a 2-3 cap on creation, and a timer on deletion and creation. There are one or two I can recall that did that to keep people from doing a constant create, register, delete, create, and so on.

    Also puts more value on that coveted name registration that 10s of thousands have paid for now. Gotta choose a server and stick with it. Hope your turn at the scaled release of KS by package value>Summer by package value>Intrepid packs gets you what you want.

    Has been proposed before and ruled out. Espionage and spying is part of the intended game mechanics. If people can tell who you are at a glance, then that is not viable.

    I have the wrestler with the cenation belt. No where does it mention Verra. 😜
