Racial Abilities

Has anything specific been announced about racial abilities for different races? Using a wow example like WoTF for undead, stun resist for orc, warstomp for tauren etc.

However, IIRC, all races have the same starting stats. However, racial quests and perhaps advancements available in a Metro which has a dominant race will lead to diversity beyond the obvious physical look of the races.

I wonder - was it a Balancing Issue ? I could imagine this to be the Case.

If they remove any "great" Differences one could feel in the Game - then they would immediately silence everyone who would whine about it anyway. Not a bad Move if i am honest.

Although i would find it cool if for example the nordic looking Humans would have slightly higher Cold/Frost Resistance like for Example the Nord in Elder Scrolls.

Something not to powerful and Advantage in every Area. More just like a smol' Gimmick. But i think anything removed for Races that would probably gives them a noticeable Advantage in their "own Biome Area's", would probably conflict with the Developers Goals to make like every Node in every Area of the World conquerable for every Race.

Stat wise yes. Looks obviously not.

Cosmetic heavy game design.
Competitive PvP heavy game design.
Don't want to limit players character looks or stats.

I think it takes away from the charm and depth of the game.

They didn't want people to feel like they had to pick a particular race in order to min-max their numbers the most efficiently. It's a better feels-good moment to be able to pick the race that you like the best for the character that you want to play, and then have stats come from elsewhere.

They decided that the stats should come from the character's Background, chosen at character creation.

And then implemented different backgrounds for each of the different races, effectively making the whole change pointless.

And they've refused to comment on it any further, despite being asked multiple times.
