[IRL LOCATIONS OF SERVER HOSTS]

Will we know exactly which servers are hosted where so we can ping test those exact locations or datacenters near them?

We won't know the answer to that (yes or no) until right before launch, HavocMason.

However, the Wiki is all-knowing about other server topics: https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Servers

We won't know as in, it's already been asked to Steven and that's what he said or it just has never been directly addressed because nobody directly asked him? Because I'm pretty sure somebody was able to map out the alpha 1 servers at some point.

If they have US East and US West servers I'm sure they'll be marked accordingly.

Well, yes, you’re stating the obvious … Alpha1 is an existing server so anyone can ping the location.

We have an idea of the geographic region the launch servers will cover … but not the exact locations.

I highly doubt that any datacenter would want their exact location (physical or IP) posted to the internet.

It is very likely that they will use AWS regions for the services like HA and failover as well as fast replication and ease of scaling. It will probably mirror New world or alpha 1.
  • hint: it's definitely inside a building with air conditioning.
