I asked on Twitch but people started trashing me, so
@AshesOfCreation asked me to post here.
I've seen experts talking about how weapons and armors are misused on videogames, and by watching Ashes of Creation on Twitch, I noticed the same.
When I asked about if experts are consulted when developing the animations,
@AshesOfCreation answered that devs usually do a lot of research, which I personally believe that it's actually done based on other games, not on actual weapons/armors.
One example is the pose that the archer does, which doesn't reflect how bows are supposed to be shot.
People said it's a fantasy game and not a simulator, but the point is that by ignoring key elements from real life, the game weakens the immersion and gets closer to generic games out there, which in turn makes the game lose its identity.
Please, don't take me as a troll or anything. My goal here is to deliver a constructive feedback. I hope that my words reach the developers.
Thank you!
