Question Please. What are all the Options to own a Tavern in the Game ?

AszkalonAszkalon Member, Alpha Two
Will we have Taverns as "static Houses" inside a Node ? Will Players be able to "own" a Tavern, if that should be the Case ?

Or will Players be able to own Taverns only on the Estate of a Freehold ?

Asking for a cool, certain Someone. ( who probably knows that already - but i don't. lol  )

A mayor should have the option of building some in a node settlement that can then be paid for and used. And yes, there should also be the option to place one on your freehold.

Thank You very much Dolyem. Damn, now i feel a bit stupid and embarrassed for not having cruised through the Wiki first before asking. :D

Noooice to know we can have/place Taverns both in AND outside the City-Walls by them being able to be on a Freehold as well.

Yeah, Freeholds are great. Pretty much everybody's going to want one, I imagine, though Steven has said that not everybody is going to be able to get one; that's what in-node housing and apartments are for.

There was a livestream Steven did around the A1 era where a content creator asked him if players will be able to own in-node businesses as static buildings, and he explicitly said no, and that player-run brick-and-mortar business ownership would be restricted to freeholds. The info regarding this topic on the Tavern page of the wiki is highly questionable and older than the info I heard in that livestream recently.

At this moment, I’m quite convinced the team has no plans of letting players own in-node businesses. They seem to be restricted to freeholds, and the “player run shops” (your character sitting on the ground or standing at a simple bazaar stall with a bunch of other players) with a small billboard of text over your head.

You just know this alone will lay a Foundation Stone for PvP and Node Sieges. :sunglasses: . >:)

It may be not everyone can own one. But very likely that everyone could have access to one through the family system. It something to be seen about how many of those freehold owners only put their alts into the family and/or how open they are to inviting others into their family.

I could see certain owners being very welcoming of having other artisans included into their family to help manage the freehold and be complementary to their crafting needs by being able to prove materials and products they themself cannot make or process.

To be somewhat controversial. I do not like the marriage system. I wish it would be named something else but not really a big deal. Sure there will be a lot of real marriages in Verra. But there will be just as many marriages of convenience just so two guild members can share the same home and increase their freehold family size by one.
