Why are you using your weapon?

I've been thinking quite often about the weapon type that I want to use while playing Ashes of Creation.

What weapon do you intend on using, what is your Archetype/Race associated with that? And what is your reasoning for using that weapon, including in association with those associated choices?

Personally, I'm going to be playing a Rogue (Either Assassin or Shadowlord) as a Kaelar human.

I plan on using a spear.
Is there any gameplay reason that I'm going to be choosing a spear? Absolutely not. I simply love the battle strategy, the advantages it provides in real combat, and the brutal single strike nature of the weapon. I will be building my character same as I build virtually every other one of my primary characters. My intention is to hide in the shadows and prepare my strike, and spear someone through before they even have the opportunity to react.

So my weapon choice is purely cosmetic and for my enjoyment. Are you guys going to be looking forward to finding creative ways to min/max damage? Are you going to stick to typical matches like Mage & Book, or Fighter & 2H Sword?
