Iconic NPCs and Cosmetics

Question: If an NPC becomes iconic like Jaina Proudmoore of WoW, or Y'shtola of FF14 for example for Ashes of Creation, what stance would Ashes take with that NPCs outfit.

Does it take away from that NPC or is it a great way to show your love for the game to be able to look like your favorite NPC

They should keep the overall outfit unique, but allow for one or two pieces of their gear to be drops/rewards. You never want your players to make dopplegangers of your major NPCs. It stifles the creativity that makes cosmetics actually worth something. They should encourage the type of creativity that would engender costume contests like Asmongold used to do for WoW (or like we had in City of Heroes).
