can anyone tell me if Ashes is going to be pvp only or pve only or is there going to be a way to lock out pvp entirely. i cannot seem to find any definite posts on it

Ashes is a mix of both. It'll be PVX with elements of pvp and pve in almost every aspect of whatever you do there's no way to lock pvp out completely.
