Launcher Makes PC Inoperable while downloading / File System Operations

The intrepid launcher when it is patching and downloading/updating the file systems after an update, causes my PC to be essentially inoperable. It seems to completely hijack File Explorer and I essentially have to wait until its done to resume normal operations on my PC. No other game launcher/installer does this. (Bnet Client game downloads/updates, Stream, Tarkov Launcher, League Client Etc).

It completely caps out my kingston M2 2TB Drive at 100% utilization on Windows 11. I also notices the xdelta2/xdelta3 executable take up to 2GB-3GB each in memory usage.

I have the same experience and it feels like one of those things where 100% utilization actually causes it to do its work slower than if it had capped out at 80% utilization. The computers just locked up at that point.

This is still about and really needs addressing,
when patching it completely freezes the PC from doing anything even the likes of discord cant be used

still dont get how the launcher manages to take up 6 + gigs of ram when updating and grinds teh PC to a halt

Want to let people know I self solved the ingame screen freezing bug.. at least for me. I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers 581.29 and I installed process lasso (the pro paid for version that I own) and used that to stabilize how AOC used system resources and my constant screen freezes and stutter stopped.

This also seems to solve the game patcher making my computer unusable while updating. Your results may vary but this fix worked wonders for me. Hope this helps you too.

One caveat to using process lasso. This program will interfere with windows update. This program if running while windows updates will make the update take 3-5X longer to process and complete. So disable this program while updating your windows software.
