Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!
For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

Penetration LOWERS Ranged Damage

The Penetration weapon talent increases Melee damage, however, for whatever reason it lowers Ranged damage.
If you use a Bow/Spellbow and take the Penetration talents you are effectively lowering your DPS of your Ranged attacks due to the bug.
If you have a Melee weapon and take the Penetration talents you will improve your Melee damage slightly, however, due to a bug in that some Melee weapon talents apply to active Ranged weapons (and vice versa), you end up lowering your Ranged DPS due to Melee talent choices.
If you take the Tier 1 3% penetration talent it reduces ALL ranged attacks. If you take the Tier 2 5% talent it lowers only the Final combo & Finisher attack of ranged attacks. If you take both the Tier 1 and Tier 2 talent, only the Tier 2 reduction applies.
Table below shows the base damage and the reductions depending on Penetration talent options taken. You only need the first level of the talent to encounter the reduction, there is no further penalty for taking level 2 or 3.

I feel sorry for all the ranged DPS who have taken the talents believing it was helping improve their damage
