In-game Chat Filter (+18 Age)
Perhaps we should have the ability to toggle the in-game chat filters. There's a lot of words you can't say, like 'circumstances' or plainly - the word Fuck.
I appreciate Intrepids intentions- but sometimes I would like to be able to convey my point without having to worry about being censored.
Does Intrepid have any plans on removing- or allowing for a toggle?
Another suggestion would be for players who have elected to enter their DOB - to have the option to toggle off the censored chat, if they are +18 years of age.
How do you all feel about the in game chat censorship currently?

Not being able to say things like simple (simpsons, simpleton, ...), scrape, circumstance, and whatever else is added is just putting up arbitrary roadbloacks to the communication of the game.
Either allow us to disable filters, or do not use them. Having it forced down our throats feels awful.
Worst case scenario is that everyone learns what you cannot write, and swap out a letter to say it anyway - which adds a mental load no one feels good about.
Please reconsider the current stance.
I totally get your point—I’ve run into that too. Sometimes you're just trying to express something normally and the filter blocks even harmless words like 'circumstances', which definitely feels like overkill.
That said, I think Intrepid's current approach is about protecting the overall tone of the community, especially while we're still in testing phases. It's easier to start strict and loosen later than the other way around.
- A toggle for +18 players (based on verified DOB) actually makes a lot of sense. It keeps things clean for those who want it, but gives adults the option to communicate more freely.
- I also believe that, regardless of any future toggle, moderation will still be there to deal with actual abuse—harassment, hate speech, or spam. So even with more freedom, there’ll be boundaries to keep things healthy.
Hopefully, once the game enters a more stable stage, they’ll review chat settings and give us a bit more flexibility—without losing control of the environment. Good suggestion!
