Edit: this is from this phase when they mysteriously managed to outlevel everyone in 2 (two) days

The population of cheaters/exploiters is limited so taking advantage of the few who show an interest in this game is too good of an opportunity to squash thru bans (after all, they paid to).

The idiots at massivelyop have an article up about it. But I don't know and I'm not going to make any accusations against any players or Intrepid. Here's what I do know. And this is only in the context of IF Intrepid is sanctioning or ignoring cheating. You won't be able to hide it Intrepid. I promise you, you won't be able to. It's a far different environment now than it was 9 years ago when you started making the game. Gamers aren't as clueless anymore. Cheating is out of control across all genres of video games. And people are aware now. It's not a question of if people are cheating, it's just how many and how bad. There are multiple youtube channels dedicated solely to catching cheaters. And that they do. There is evidence in some games, Escape from Tarkov for instance, that 50-60% of the player base is cheating. Didn't Dr Lupo get busted for cheating in freakin CHESS? lol, I dunno that's what I heard. But the cheating is everywhere. People even cheat in single player games. And this isn't just kinda run of the mill, "oh let me just cheat a lil bit" kinda cheating. These cheaters get the same feeling of accomplishment beating content that they would get if they had done it legit. In other words, it makes no difference to them. There's literally no moral compass present. Unironically, the meteoric rise in cheating aligns pretty well with the rise in mental illness. As others have said, once that stain is on you as a company, it is near impossible to get off. To get it off might be a taller task than the making of the game itself. You could have made a cozy housing simulator game. But you have made the exact kind of game that will people want to cheat in most. I hope you're ready to deal with it head on. A couple Intrepid employees have responded to a couple of different threads here on the topic. They said that if you see cheating, provide evidence of it. That's reasonable. But it can't just be on the players. It is extremely hard for players to acquire that kind of evidence. It primarily falls on you Intrepid to police your own game. Medium to long term, we'll know if you are. I can't stress it enough. We'll know. We'll know. There's nothing you can do to change this fact. We'll know.
