honest feedback (as you requested from youtube video)

1) Weather
Rain: One of the best rain effects I’ve seen is in Throne and Liberty. The water appears as if it’s hitting a car windshield, giving an immersive look directly on the screen. Here’s an example: Throne and Liberty Rain

Spring: The purple grass fields in Outward (around Conflux Mountain) are simple but breathtaking. I’d love to see more areas in Ashes of Creation with that kind of vibrant and beautiful design — maybe even flowers that sprout occasionally.

Fall: I already love how trees change color! It would be amazing to also see leaves falling or swirling with the wind.
Winter: Snow looks good, but adding frosty corners to the screen when outside could enhance immersion — like the cold affecting visibility slightly.
2) Quests
Some of the best quest designs come from Elder Scrolls Online. They’re not just fetch quests — they involve meaningful decisions, like choosing to kill or spare someone, with different rewards based on those choices.
I’d love to see Ashes of Creation include more decision-based quests that offer alternate outcomes and rewards. Too many “kill and return” quests can get repetitive.
Also, having some quests that lead directly into world, zone, node events would make the world feel more alive and dynamic.
3) Events
The event system in Guild Wars 2 is the best I’ve seen so far — the way events appear on the map and the notification system feels organic and exciting.
I think Ashes of Creation could take inspiration from that — with visible world events that feel like they have real impact. You already have a strong system, but this could make it even more engaging.
4) Gathering
Mining: The mining sound effects in New World are incredibly satisfying — that metallic “ping” sound is so well done that players often talked about it in world chat. Something similar in Ashes would make gathering feel more rewarding.
Tree Cutting: Both New World and Ashes of Creation handle this well. The animations and sound design already feel great.
Gathering (herbs, materials): Feels fine overall.
Hunting: Right now, animals stand still when you skin them. World of Warcraft made hunting and skinning feel more interactive and lively — adding that dynamic touch could make hunting feel more immersive.
5) Outfits and Weapons (please see pictures below)
There should be more craftable outfits and armor recipes inspired by creatures and bosses we defeat.
For example, I love the wolf helmet — it would be great to see more themed designs like wizard hats, witch robes, and floral outfits. The ability to dye them in multiple colors would make customization even better.
More variety in weapon and armor aesthetics would really make character creation and progression stand out.
6) Dungeons
Open-world dungeons are a great concept, but static NPCs make them feel lifeless after a while.
For example, in Steelbloom, guards could patrol or interact instead of standing still. Adding small dungeon events or occasional PvP-triggering events inside open dungeons could make them far more exciting — maybe something that happens once a week to keep it fresh.
7) Monsters
I’d love to see more world monsters that actively affect the surrounding areas — changing the local environment or even causing short-term chaos.
Also, it would be cool if NPC factions like goblins had different outfits or appearances depending on their region — showing local culture or climate differences between zones.

Final Thoughts
I love the vision behind Ashes of Creation, and it’s already one of the most promising MMORPGs I’ve seen in years. These suggestions are just ideas to make the world feel even more alive and immersive.
