The negatives:
There is something missing from the game for me, still. A lot of the tutorial is quite hand holdy, and then all of a sudden there is nothing and what you need to do is not intuitive. It seems that everyone just gets into large groups together and mindlessly competes for and kills mobs in high level areas. Okay.., but that has never felt fun. I feel exhausted by this within 30 minutes.
The questing has gotten a lot better, but I got stuck at level 5 in briarwoods farms. This morning I ran around for an hour just looking for 1 herb to pick to make 1 more coarse thread. I went back to the starting area where I know there are herbs, and they were "wilted snow drops" so they wouldn't work for making the thread. That was extremely frustrating. I never found the herb and I decided life is too short to run around an imaginary world looking for an herb I'll never find. I logged out and came here to give you feedback. I doubt I'll play again this time around. The game is incomplete.
I've barely been able to do any combat in this game. I have all of these awesome skills and combat mechanics, then it takes 10 minutes to find a mob to attack.
Crafting is extremely clunky, I have to click so many things to make 1 item. Then I have to wait for that 1 item to finish crafting before I can start another one. If I am doing it wrong, it is not clear the right way to do it.
How do I cull animals? No idea, nothing is telling me, and others have this question constantly in chat. I still have this question.
When I sell items to a vendor and a prompt menu pops up to confirm, it should happen where my mouse cursor is. That, or at least make my keyboard's "enter" key answer "yes" to that pop up. As it stands now it takes a lot of time and wrist movement to sell things to a vendor. It doesn't need to be this way.
Server login should happen before character login. As it stand now, I will have to wait in queue every time I want to switch characters on the same server. If I need to quickly switch and then switch back, that would be 2 full waits in the queue.
My weapon as a fighter is constantly disappearing, and it looks weird to swing an invisible sword. I'm sure this is a bug and will be fixed. My character model also just looks a little odd. Like the lower body into the middle body. Something seems off there.
I know this is all overly negative, but I've mostly had negative experiences in this game so far and this is feedback after all. We learn more from failure than success. Still, I'll highlight the positives since that is important too.
The positives:
I love the way you can see way far into the distance when you are at vantage points. It gives this idea of a "nice view" which I love. I paused at the top of a hill to take in all of the detail and it was extremely impressive. The map in general seems really nice as you run through it. So much detail, but not overwhelming.
The combat and animations of my level 5 fighter are awesome! I have so many skills at my disposal right away and so I feel like a level 40 warrior in world of warcraft, but at level 5. I like the idea of getting the meaningful skills earlier, and living that class fantasy right away. I think this game is on the other side of the spectrum to WoW, where we are probably getting too powerful of skills too early if anything.
If crafting was less clunky in terms of clicks required per craft, and being able to craft in any quantity you want that you have materials for, then I think it will be really good. I like the idea of everyone getting to do every profession if they want, and the menu seemed really nice, the UI seemed good… The only issue, is I have to click like 5-10 things just to make quantity 1 of a coarse thread. Then I have to wait for it to finish, to then click 5-10 times again to make 1 more. You get the idea.
