Hello all!
I've been an MMO player of all different kinds since I first started playing SWG in 2003. I was a long term Guild Wars player, a LOTRO player, a Pirates of the Burning Sea player too. I played Secret World for a long time as well as SWTOR and BDO.
The thing I'd like to discuss is the long term viability of a subscription model in a game that has no solo content. After a year or so, most MMO players fall into a routine in their daily MMO. A lot of the time that means solo MMO stuff, you say hello to people on and you go about your day for 30 minutes or less on the days when you don't have guild/org/fellowship/raid group/PvP plans.
If there are two days a week a player has time to invest in group play per week, then you're really paying for a sub after the first year for two days a week because gone are the 5 days a week when you're doing "Daily upkeep".
This game has a real lack of that and that's going to be an issue long term. Remember, I'm not talking about the first 6 months when everything is fresh and exciting. I'm talking about when we all fall into the MMO daily routine. If I have 30 minutes to play, I'm not looking to do group stuff, but I still want to do combat. There absolutely needs to be solo-able combat content in this game and it's wild to me that there isn't.
