Relogged after exp bug and now game treats me as if I'm lvl1 with no abilities

Noticed me and my brother stopped getting exp from kills so we relogged. After logging back my exp bar shows as lvl1 and I have no access to skills. When we killed something it "lvled" me back to 9 and shows I have skillpoints to spend but it won't confirm it. Relogging resets me back to the lvl1 status and also it wiped my friend list as well. It forgets any setting I change between relogs as well, like he's stuck in limbo.

Same problem. kill something then show correct lvl on bar but skill selection doesn't save

In the AOC launcher in settings / game clicked Clear Game Cache Settings and launched seems to fix this

Clearing game cache may have been just a coincidence. Just tried logging in after a few hours break and same issue back to level 1.

Created 2nd character seems not to affect it.

Tried logging several times to restart / relog seems to have no effect. Any updates or work around would be much appreciated.

Updates after some investigation:

Your character info is being saved even though it doesn't look like it.
We are still working on identifying the root cause so we can move on to a fix.

Steps to try as a workaround:

PgUp to note which SW you are on. Move until you are no longer in that one.
This will vary depending on where you are, but try moving away from the starting areas, leveled settlements, and major PoIs.
Then, log out of the game and come back in.

If it hasn't been resolved, try to move farther away from population.

We appreciate everyone's help tracking this down. If these steps do work for you, we would love to know as it would confirm suspicions toward the cause.

I followed the suggested steps and moved several SW away, including travelling to completely unpopulated areas, but unfortunately it did not fix anything. Any other ideas to try?

Also I want to add that not only skill points disappeared (for weapon as well), but also professions are in some bugged state (not even a novice) and at 0%. Character menu displays correct lvl when exp bar is not. In the character selection correct lvl is showed as well.

Journal got wiped out clean too.

This has happened to me twice as well. Once it just fixed itself out of nowhere.Both times it took place on the Pelune Joeva — the game suddenly started lagging badly, and then this happened right after I logged back in.It’s still messed up the second time around, and I’ve tried logging in and out repeatedly several times already.

PgUp to note which SW you are on. Move until you are no longer in that one.

Sadly not for me, I have travelled throw 5 of them trying to re-log in every single one.

@xinyi Have you done anything special? Where exactly have you travelled?

I walked from SW44 to another area Maybe SW40, and then my level returned to normal. After that, just quit the game and log back in, and it’ll work.

Found an open field away from POI was at level 1 killed something to get to level 2 then logged out. Logged back in and haven't had the issue since.

Same thing happening to My character, Arcaen, on Resna. Started at Miraleth, went all the way over to near lionhold and killed some level 4 goblins to level up from "1-2", when i hit 2 it sets me to 10.

When I reset it by moving to different area and leveling up, It does set me back to my original level of 10, with all the exp, but I still cannot set my skill choices, and after relogging it puts me back to level 1 on the exp bar at the bottom, and i have to start the process again, but it doesnt fix it.

As well, all my gathering certs are at nothing, so i cant even harvest novice materials.

PLEASE HELP GODS OF THE ASHES OF CREATION.

p.s. checked my other lvl 3 fighter, he's fine, so its definitely character independent.

Hello, I got a peculiar bug yesterday: all my class skills, weapons skills, stamina skills, and Profession just got cancelled.

I play as Ranger level 10 in Lotharia EU server, I was just doing commissions and quests, I do not know at what exact point this bug just manifest, and I could do nothing.

My class skills are all grey, and got 0 points. I can't even do the starting Ranger skill Salvo. I killed a mob by autoattak, with that exp somehow got all my class and stamina skills points, but even if I spend and confirm my choise, they are not saved. For this I'm unable to use any skills.

I used the Longbow and Greatsword from level 1, but also the weapon skills are 0

Also my professions are 0, even worse: they are not even Novice level, I can't gather, process and craft novice level stuff.

The character with this isse is Solonor, I have not tested other characters yet.

Hoping it was hellpfull to find this nasty bug and to correct it!

I abandoned all my quests and relogged. It fixed my issue.

I can confirm it is related to raven commissions. Was able to get everything back by picking new commissions, abandoning them and then re-login (few times over). The only problem that now persists is that I cannot drop raven commissions that turned "Expired".

I got fixed, I read to log out in a less populated area from Discord, and started to move to the Tropic, but something else happened.

I was in Lionhold, then i had to log-out, as i logged in my character was fixed, even if that is an high populated area.

Fixed the issue for me as well.

of note: i did NOT have any RAVEN commissions at all as Blackbeary noted in his post.

Same issue, no resolution yet. I'm not even able to attempt to abandon quests, as my quest journal doesn't even populate. Just empty.

I was in the game and suddenly i couldn't interact any more with the working stations. Then i looked up my Artisans and everything went down to 0. Also my Character lvl 13 went down to lvl 1.

I mean Alpha is cool, but randomly erasing all of your hard earned work?! Seriously?

My character name is Faramir on the Server Tenok.

This is unbarable. I will not be the only one that this will happen. How could u ever enjoy the game if everything can randomly get wiped?
