Ashes of Creation is an old-school take on the modern MMORPG set in a living, reactive world where your choices shape civilization. In this PvX open world sandbox, players will build cities, forge empires, and lay siege to foes. Uncover the Ancients as you fight to reclaim the fallen world of Verra.
This is the first thing you read on the Steam page. Many people's first encounter with the game.
To me, this is perfect. This is everything I want ashes to be.
Sadly, over the years, Intrepid has called itself a "Sand Park". A Term I hate and want nothing to do with.
I have never seen any evidence of Ashes game design that make it have theme park elements other than the existence of some none repeatable quests. Everything else is sandbox, and that is why I love Ashes.
So has Intrepid stepped away from the theme park elements and embraced the glorious evergreen design space of the social sandbox?
It would make my day if some staff members could explain this.
