Hey Intrepid,
I'm reaching out because I really hope you'll reconsider the total restriction on combat trackers in Ashes. Ive been playing MMOs for nearly twenty years now, and for me, trackers have always been a huge part of why the game is fun.
Honestly, I think not having a tracker can actually cause more unfair toxicity. Just the other day i got kicked from a group after a wipe because the other players blamed my healing. Without a tracker, I had no way to defend myself or see what really happened. Without the data, youre just left guessing and feeling defenseless when people start pointing fingers. Not having a combat tracker to show that youre actually doing alright can cause a huge loss in confidence. On the other hand, if you actually did perform poorly, at least then you'd know for sure and have a proper tool to help you improve.
The hardcore community is going to grow in Ashes no matter what, but the experience is just way less rewarding if we can’t measure our own growth. We don't want these tools to be mean to others, we want them because we love nerding out over our characters progress.
Toxicity is a social problem that needs social solutions, and I don't think the fix is to limit the data that helps us play our best. Please dont take this part of the MMO experience away from us.
Thanks for all the hard work you're putting into the game, it's looking great.
