How many of you are dnd-lovers?

Hey! I'm curious how many of you were drawn to Ashes by it's fantasy tags that seem to have some references to one of the most popular franchises in rpg history.

(even I believe Steven offered to host a dnd session based in Verra?)

I'm a DM, and a player in current campaigns and I'm wondering how many of you guys would just love for Steven to release an official module for the world of Verra setting? I know I would LOVE it.

I can see it now. A few players ingame sitting at a table playing DnD rather than doing a Dungeon raid.

@nick10281 honestly, that sounds like an amazing pass-time.
Since table-games and interactions will be a thing, maybe Steven will just straight up add in the Verra dnd module into the game. Players can play dnd.. while in a rpg.

My friend saw the game on KS and was like "it will be too much like ArcheA..."

I watched the video and fell for the pitch. This will be the first MMO I will ever put more than 4 hours into.

Also, I am an avid D&D player and have already started planning ending a campaign by time Ashes goes live so I can have my Saturday nights back.

@Zomnivore If I could have multiple sessions a day, I would have multiple. Instead i'm stuck with just 3 times a week.

What're your current characters? Mine is a Barbarian Princess and a Necromancer old lady stuck in a young girls body because she fucked up while trying to obtain immortality. Now she's trying to become a lich.

I played a bit in college but since it was new to me (and we were all drinking

) I never really got the hang of it or picked up all the rules. I've always loved the fantasy genre though. Books, games, movies...I love it all.

I had a Kobold Beast Master Ranger, gave it up, became a Hob Goblin wild sorc, and then in the other game I was a paladin Aarakocra. Now that games ended and I'm gonna be a dwarf beast master from unearthed arcana

I used to love table top games and have played all sorts including about 5 diferent versions of D&D but sadley my friends have all moved and there are never enough of us in one place to play these days

I know that feeling all to well. it is lucky that we have roll 20 to fill in the gap but it never beats real table top games

Started playing d&d back in 1982 at the age of 12 and just loved it and still do.

I've only played DnD once back in High school because a group was formed there. We basically got nothing done and I was so shy back then that even talking was difficult (I have mild Aspergers). Everyone in the group would focus on every individual detail in a room instead of taking the hint the GM was stating that doing anything after this was useless.

It reminds me of Critical Role like that time with the chair.. but 24/7. Sessions were about 3 hours averaged. I eventually lost interest and stopped coming.

However, I did awaken the biggest God in their game that was asleep with rolling a d100.

All in all, what really got me into Ashes was the visual of how much mages could do (especially since the first trailer I saw was the mage showcasing) which led me to take a closer look. I fell in love with the Nodes system and how every little thing could lead to a change. It sounded so much nicer than the rigid forms that I got bored of playing (like WoW.. I was around 6 when I played on my father's account in his lap. They were a big guild called Perfect Storm I believe.)

Anyways, I really got into role playing back in 2014 for a tiny lil' game with a fan base over animals (wolves and lions specifically). So, seeing the extent for animal husbandry left me excited. It reminded me of my 2016 days of playing Archeage with a friend for hours on end, sailing on a tiny raft across the sea to get the mounts and pets over there without getting killed. It was an experience.

I am excited.. because of the potential, the possibilities, and my background.

Albeit, if I ever found a nice DnD guild.. I'm sure I'd take an interest even more into the game over different aspects. But, for now, It wasn't my true focus. It's a nice game and I'd enjoy playing it, though.
