Now I tend to like darker type art rather than classical Fantasy which is what AOC is based on but here goes.......Fighting Fantasy artwork was one of my most favourite and largest influences, its rather warped but i love a world of flaws as opposed to a world thats always just perfect. Fighting Fantasy are old school RPG books by mainly Ian Livingstone a absolute legend in my eyes.

I like Ian Livingstone's art style but for me my absolute favorite has always been Frank Frazetta. He can get dark and brutal as well. To me there is just so much more emotion in his work than stuff by someone like Boris Vallejo. Boris' work always seems to be like something sculpted by Michelangelo. Boris seems to be more interested in the musculature of his figures which makes sense when you know he has a bodybuilding background. Frazetta's stuff just seems more raw and powerful emotionally. I mean just look at his Death Dealer 1 and 2 and his Banshee. Those along with Dawn Attack (for that old school 60's sci-fi vibe) are some of my favorites.
