Forums: Intimidating Visitors

Fellow Survivors (badge) of the old Vanilla Forums: It appears we are at a cross-roads in embracing newbies looking into ashes of creation. I suggest all the badges and posts are intimidating to those looking for a fresh game. So let's invite folks in when window shopping? I don't see a lot of new blood logging in as guests - how can we change that? It's a rhetorical question worth exploring for the longevity of AOC - You think? Hugs Skaff.

I don't think forum badges are intimidating to new people. I think forums are usually the first place new people go for information and may lurk until they are comfortable.
There just hasn't been much going on for several months, so, I think people will trickle back as a steady flow of info pour outs.

I like having badges that separate those that have invested in the community and those that show up for a bit due to hype and they go ghost like until the next wave of hype hits.

I think everyone should be invited and welcomed, I also think those who invest in the community should be shown some love by the developers too.

The badges defiantly are not intimidating and the official forms across the board are not either. The residents are friendly and welcoming on the whole. Not sure what the OP is basing this perception on. The Ashes Reddit was not exactly positive, but i am sure we have all seen worse.

Reddit as a whole is a dumpster fire.

It's slowly becoming a weird mix of Facebook and 4chan with a sprinkle of Instagram.
