So then the wise and popular leader of a military node gets a dozen of his stoutest followers to join him. They keep him healed and protected while systematically slaughtering all those who seek the position. Once the field is empty of everyone but the leader and his gang, they surrender or commit suicide or kill each other or whatever is needed to eliminate them from the competition. That ensures that their leader takes charge. This method means that the mayor is not necessarily the best warrior, but rather the person who can gather and coordinate the most powerful and loyal comrades. Which is perfect for that kind of node. And if his followers turn on him instead, well, that’s just awesome. And not unexpected in a military dictatorship. but then only the person with connections will become mayor, so a certain guild can control that node we had that happening in another game where a hero was elected and stood there for 2 whole years. it breaks and poisons the small community from within I think. but that's just my feeling.

consultant wrote: » What was actually said was only way to remove a mayor was to destroy a node by Jeff Bard. So as soon as mayor gets elected the loser of the election will most likely try to destroy the node just to get another chance to ride mount. And Krohn was the one that said mayors get elected every 30 days. Really does not matter if it s a good mayor or bad mayor toons want to find a way to ride a dragon mount so I am guessing by the aforementioin comments every time a mayor gets elected the node will get destroyed. Is there something a player will not do to get a dragon mount. If it means rallying the troops and destroying the node so be it. So who would not want to do that. Some might have it all orchestrated in case they lose the election in the first place. So im just guessing from the comments that were made everytime a mayor gets elected its goodbye node. Actuaully really funny. I will just keep destroying my node until I get elected. Why Not? Guess I should of clarified.

Only in Scientific Nodes do people elect a mayor. The other Node types have different methods for determining who is mayor.
