So many suggestions from good games but hoping so unique features will set this games Armour apart. Perhaps given class changes the look or piece to identify class. Starter stuff should be simple but as levels progress.... reward the effort.
I don't like this style you find in many Asian games where the thighs are wider and longer than the torso and shoulders, and where even heavy armor has small shoulders. Looks particularly bad on male characters. It's okay for some specific gear but in general you want stronger armor to mean wider shoulders, more of a V-taper and an imposing silhouette. WoW runs with this style, and except for being too comical I think it works well.
Tastes differ though, I also don't like asymmetric gear but apparently some people do.
I like Lineage 2's, ESO's, and GW2's style the best. They put proper attention to detail so that it doesn't look like a mess. It also makes sense while not looking like a gundam.
Dark Souls Series has a lot of amazing looking architecture and Armor.
I don't think the Dwarves look too bad. They do need their body proportions fixed a little bit. Someone that sized would have morphed proportions because it would make physical sense for the weight to be distributed that way. The face is fine. I like the armor.
Just a few of the pieces I like from FFXIV. I usually like "street clothes" and would love the ability to have really poor stat "armor" that would be nice to wear if you're hanging around town.
Me and my friend have collected a bunch of armor sets over the years, both cosmetic and in game armor. We loved them so much I decided to make a website to showcase them. What I would like to see is SIMPLE stuff. Not all that tralala fluff. Even as a mage, I'd not wear all that screaming armor if I could. In games I consistently have been looking for simple stuff which isn't always easy, because mages seem to have to be wearing robes and skirts at all times. I'm always jealous of leather armor, because that's often where to find simple fitting trousers, a straighforward black jacket, uncomplicated tight boots (and please not the knight kind where the boots are wider than elephant legs). A black widow suit for me please, even when I'm mage or healer.
