OU then Asherons call, then bounced around to tons of different ones hoping to find that old magic, haven't found it. Hoping AoC scratches that itch I've been missing for years.
Happy to see other Asherons Call veterans here
Asheron's Call vet here as well. Played on Morningthaw from Jan 2000 - sometime in 2005. Dabbled in a little Darktide but was an off and on again PvPer on Morningthaw. My friends and I were able to buy the Qalabar Villa when the housing became available and used it launch our PvP raids through subway and other gathering places.
No other MMO has been able to give me that sense of wonder that came with discovering Asheron's Call. I've had lots of fun in WoW, ESO and BDO but nothing has captured me like AC. From what I've read and seen, AoC has the potential and it has that part of my brain tingling again.
I literally found it on Miniclip one day and decided to try it out. It was the #1 game on Miniclip at the time. More than a year and a half of game time later I feel thankful that this was my first MMO. I always find myself going back to it.
I think what makes Runescape so addictive is the sense of grand achievement. Skills actually take months to master and give crazy rewards. (We won't speak about the grinding) I haven't found a game that satisfies my Runescape itch to this day.
Ultima Online for years and then Knight Online, Dekaron, Aion (in the original servers, before Gameforge kills it), FF 14. I played many MMORPGs (including WoW, LineAge II, etc but didn't spend much time) but I enjoyed Ultima, Aion and FF14 (from different decades) the most. My expectations are a bit high from AoC. i'm new, so please don't be hard on me when you see me in the game
First: RuneScape (not for very long)
First after that: FFXI (10years) - surprised this wasn't on list considering how big and how many servers there were.
I remember playing Ultima Online. Not sure how long I played it for. I tend to lose interest in a game if it doesn't hold my attention. I'm hoping that this is one of those rare games that can.
jsoloMember, Braver of Worlds, Kickstarter, Alpha One
My first MMO was the best game I have played to date and that was original SWG. I love the profession and crafting system in the game. The combat mechanic were great. Yes, there were bugs and issue like any game but the fun I had was amazing. I'm still trying to find a MMO which will bring that back.
