Beautiful clothes / vanity gear

Hello! I'm very excited about this game.
One of the things I like the most in MMORPG and other online games - is dressing up my character and making them look good. To that end, I am often disappointed by games focusing only on gear that makes sense in a battle scenario. Chainmails, plate, weathered leather gear, mage robes, etc. And then they completely forget casual clothes.

One of my favorite games in that regard is FFXIV. You can get anything there - from combat armor to parade uniforms, from traveller's cloaks to beautiful dresses, tuxedo suits and arcane gear with shiny floating crystals. You get casual-looking shorts, skirts and pants too. You have anime-like over-the-top gear with belts and buckles.
For those who like them, you get bikini suits and sexy-dancer attire.

The game doesn't shy away from "bikini-chainmail" while also providing classy and battle-weathered looks too.

I really enjoy that aspect. I hope that Ashes does the same.
I really hope that you can work with Asian and Western clothes designers to create a diverse set of outfits and clothes.

This is a casual concern, but it really elevates games for me if I can wear brooding warlock outfit with sculls and spikes one day, and then switch it up to pink mini-skirt and top when I feel like it.

Also I always wanted a game with more vanity slots - like underwear, stockings, hair clips/bows, bracelets, etc.

Lastly, I enjoy options to hide gear. I sometimes enjoy going bare-feet and in only small bra +pants or skirt as part of barbarian-ish roleplay. I really hope that's possible.

p.s. It seems a lot of people get confused about Bikinis. I am NOT suggesting to definitely have those in the game. I was merely listing the breadth of options in FFXIV. Now, personally I wouldn't mind bikinis (I wouldn't wear them, but having an option is better in my book). But The point is to make more casual and non-battle vanity gear like dresses, shirts, pants, skirts, etc. Not necessary to go all the way to Korean-style MMO with panties everywhere (Although personally I would love them).

There are many players out there who view wearing/displaying BiS armor as a status symbols.

I would love for this concept to be applied to non combat related in game clothes.

Basically expensive clothes to flaunt with no stats on em.

I also think that artisan gear with crafting/processing/gathering stats instead of combat stats would be pretty cool.

Cooking apron/chef's hat, lumberjack garb, fishing gear, carpentry gear, alchemist lab coat and so on.

Would a tamer possibly look like a cowboy? I sure hope so.
A scribe a scholar? Totally.

That being said, none of this stuff should be able to replace your combat gears appearance.

While I'm on this line of thinking, a monarch being able to change their helm to a crown if they hold a castle should be a thing.

If it's a world with no magic - bikini armor would break immersion, sure.

I have a sort of interesting perspective on this, I played APB for many years, which undoubtedly, hands down has the best customization of any game on the market. It's usually the women players that have their characters dressed in kink gear and more power to them in my opinion.

I don't think people should be telling others how their character should look, the whole point of having an avatar is so that you can relate to the thing that you're controlling, you should be enabled to dress them up how you want.

You also have to keep in mind, this is a world filled with magic, it's not supposed to be realistic, there is literally flying mounts and bears made out of lava and fire, you can ride giant dragons (and little dragons.) The whole argument that a tank wearing a bikini (or bikini armor) doesn't really make sense, maybe that bikini was enchanted by the gods themselves, maybe my hairy male orc is wearing said bikini because it's the best armor in the game, don't judge me.
