C'mon guy, as far as I understand the deadline you're referring to was a conservative estimate not a commitment for a firm deadline.

In light of the pandemic situation it has impacted on a lot of businesses release timelines, you have to take that into consideration. The Alpha 1 could have been pushed as far back as Q4 next year but it's not.

Since Alpha 1 is still planned for Q4 2020 they're not even far behind their original deadline. And yes I agree, things are looking pretty far ahead in terms of gameplay, which is probably why Alpha 1 is still planned for Q4.

The devs may want to make sure it's running smoothly and either iron out, or revise current systems or implement new systems before starting Alpha 1.

First impressions are pretty important, and if Alpha 1 still releases in Q4 and the client is better than it is now then I'd prefer to wait for it, so you should speak for yourself.

You've already waited so many years as you've said, what's another 2 and a half months going to hurt you? that's just 10 weeks away, another 75 days, and only 1800 hours, and there's 108,000 minutes in 1800 hours, which equates to 6,480,000 seconds, and that's only one 27000th percent of jef Bezos net worth, or roughly 0.027% of jef Bezos net worth if seconds were measured as us dollars. I think we should allow intrepid until the end of this year for alpha 1 at least.

Having said all that Ashes looks much better than jef Bezo's world since you brought it up. I do wonder if jef bezo will ever spawn in as a world boss or something like that in his world, if that did happen I wouldn't expect it to be a fair fight.
Look how much money jef put into new world, and look how much money went into Ashes. I know which one I'll be playing and which one looks better, that's for sure, and it's not jef bezo world.

No matter how badly you want to play a game, you don't get to determine when it's ready. It's like barging into an operating room and demanding the surgeon stitch the person up because they've been at it long enough already and, at a cursory glance, you think everything looks fine.

Patience isn't a virtue because it's easy. If you invested half a grand into the dream of a better MMO, you really don't want them to rush things.

you know, this is average time for a mmo's release. They will give a hopeful guess, for if they get tons of money and use it to hire staff. They are doing pretty well, dont ignore this game for new world

New World missed lots of deadlines, and even delayed their main release date.

So you're really just looking for a reason to jump ship and get your money back, because missing dates doesn't really seem to be the issue.

Also as has been said, AoC has mainly given "hopeful dates" not really hard commits and official statement on dates.

So because you spent a bunch of money investing in this game, you are now demanding to get the reward for that in your time frame? Unfortunately that's not how it works, ESPECIALLY when it comes to ambitious game development.

I used to be like you and got burned once which is why I am no longer willing to sink money into an idea. If you spend money on something like this you need to accept there is the very real possibility you many not get your investment back. You chose to take the risk, caveat emptor. If you can't do this I would highly recommend not investing in things of this sort moving forward, you will sleep better at night.

And by all means go try out New World, you will be back well before AoC is out

@Wargasm you overly privileged child. Threatening fraud to get your way/attention is one of the saddest things I've seen. First off the IS does their best to state QUARTERS and by my estimate we are only just not beginning the 4th quarter in which they stated the Alpha would be released. I am a KS backer and can say my expectations for today are right where i knew they would be 3 years ago. You joined the forum, from you forum profile, on auguest 26th and im guessing you bought into an alpha package thinking you'd get the game sooner then their release date. How close am I? You are the type of person that make the IS team cautious and constantly adding a disclaimer every chance they get that this is not complete.

I almost want to give you $500 just to get you to leave so you wont stank up this community any more then you already have. Threatening to play a different game? Dude go do it. You can't honestly believe IS cares about your tantrum and that you'd get some serious backing from this community can you?

I've said this before but you're either secretly working for another gaming studio trying to flame AoC or a petulant MMO child and are the reason why game studios feel pressure to release incomplete games.

We are 22 days into fall, which is not even a quarter of the way into fall. He has until December 21st to host one alpha 1 test to have met that deadline. It has also already been stated that the creative director's letter this Friday will have the testing dates in it.
