Naval Tradecraft .... Scientific or Merchant Node?

First I look to @Jahlon for guidance. The conundrum is IF your in a Seafaring Guild do you establish a Merchant or Scientific node? That is crafting ships and Navigators. One opens this question up. The more obvious answer is one next to another. What say you?

If you are a trade based guild, you also don't want to establish a single base of operations, you would want people spread out as far as you can reasonably allow for.
There are several reasons for this, but chief among them is if you base yourself in two nodes, a single siege will wipe out half of your trade empire.
If you spread that same empire over 10 modes, that means that siege will only wipe out 10%.
The notion that you need to pick one node and only get the benefits from that for your entire guild is simply not how the game will work.

I dont understand people that posts video to a forum and expect others to watch it. If you have something to say or to ask, say it or ask it yourself.
If I have time and circumstances to watch a video,I have time and circumstances to play a game. When that is the decision I have to make, I am not watching the video.
This is a forum, not YouTube. People don't come here to watch video, they come here to discuss. If you watch a video that has a thing that you think is worth discussing, tell us all what that thing is rather than just lazily posting the video that we would have been able to find if we were interested in wasting time with other peoples opinions of how the game will unfold rather than coming up with our own opinions.
As the videos you are posting are indeed only opinions of other people, there is nothing to learn from them other than learning of the opinion some random person has of this game.

The difference is, the opinion I am expressing is my own, not the opinion of some random person with a YouTube channel.
1-we have a crafting division so our crafters will greatly benefit from a scientific node via blueprints and whatnot
2- Ship component blueprints
From what I recall you don't need to be in a Economic node to send a caravan so the Economic node becomes less valuable than the Scientific Node.
