Battle mage weapons options.

Do getting the battle mage class mean I can fully main swords and bring out full usage of the sword. Or change my magic skills to sword like skills to use swords full power.

You can use any weapon of your choice. All classes can.

We don't know enough about class skills to answer your question though.

From what we know so far weapon skills & class skills are two different things, apparently you can still train in sword as a mage and slash away under the weapon use combo system:

However the available augments for most classes haven't been released yet, and in the case of battlemage, we don't know how would fighter augments affect mage skills. May be the fireball gets turned into a fiery slash, may be not. (shrugs)
