Legendary weapons

The topic of the offer, the perception of "Legendary weapons". I've noticed that in most MMORPG games, Legendary weapons are not legendary. It is simply highlighted in "gold color and gives good stats", but from what legend it is, who owned it, how it appeared is not known. Therefore, I propose to change the approach to this type of weapon and remove it from the list of "type of quality of weapons". Give it its own place in the world. For example: in the far, far past, there was a certain Sir Hero who killed many monsters and earned his legend in the game world, but these times are long gone and Sir Hero lies for a long time in a coffin, and with him the "Legendary Sword", which during the service received the stats and special skills characteristic of Sir Hero. And here the sword lies waiting for someone brave and worthy to come and take it away.

    Eg. I suggest that the weapon can be obtained by a player who alone will pass some kind of test. It is desirable that the tests differ depending on the weapon or type of weapon.

    Thanks for the link, but I suggest a different approach to this type of weapon. It can not be obtained from the boss or crafted, it is one for the entire server. And to get it, you need to sweat a lot. Example: learn from the legend that there is such an item, find its location, pass the test.

    Whether the legendary is attainable by a boss or as a reward from completion of a quest it doesn't matter to me. Perhaps instead making it only obtainable by those who have completed a large list of achievements/quests, not necessarily a time-gated thing but extensive enough that your average player can't obtain it in a week or two, I second DjackX_X, it should be very sweaty to obtain. X.D

    It's unlikely that there will ever be only one Legendary weapon on a server.
    Perhaps the closest one could get are weapons that can only be used by the monarch of a Castle or the Mayor of a Metro. Might be that the devs could also have the "Legendary weapons" available to Mayors are sub-divided by Node and possibly also by the race that controls the Node.
    But, I don't think the devs plan to go that direction - and, if they did, such weapons will probably have some other category name.

    In Ashes, Legendary weapons will typically be crafted from Legendary resources, probably crafted by master crafters.
    Several people on a server could have a Legendary weapon at the same time.

    But, there may also be items that have Legends and Lore attached to them, sure.

    Both are good links.
    Terms and concepts can vary for different games and also there may be some language translation challenges.
    So...both links cover what's suggested in the OP, I think.
