General Discussion
Discussion; secondary class doesn't matter.
Noaani
As far as I can tell, secondary classes do two things. They provide a list of adornments to spells and abilities of the primary class, and they are used to determine stats gained with each new level.
So, if our primary archetype will be where all of our base spells and abilities come from, and our secondary will provide those base spells and abilities with adornments we can select to apply, we can assume that the difference between a tank/tank and a tank/ranger will be almost entirely contained within the adornments each of these two classes have access to.
The thing is, we will gain access to more adornments as we adventure out in Verra.
In my experience playing MMO's, the best things are always the things that take the most time to get. If you apply this basic principle to these adornments, which group are likely to be better - the group of adornments you get as you level your character, or the group of adornments you actually spend time to gain access to?
Now, I admit I am making a few assumptions here - adornments found in the world will be based on primary archetype, not actual class is one assumption I am making.
What this says to me is that once players have spent time in Verra, once a large number of players have access to the ariety of adornments on offer outside of the class system, the bulk of players - those wanting to be the most effective at what they do at least - will likely all start using adornments on their spells and abilities that came from sources other than their secondary archetype.
If this is the case, if a tank/tank and a tank/ranger have the same spells and/or abilities selected, and the same adornments attached to them because they are the 'best' adornments, will there be any difference between a Guardian and a Warden?

Also, I have merged the two shaman demonic pet options into one. The lifestealer will also tank in pve. The lifesteal regeneration should be HoT ratioted to equivalence of health pot across the same timeframe. Latter stage can be ignored if health pots are HoT already.
Thanks for the brain storms

I wonder whose intstruments will linger longer - Bard/Summoner or Summoner/Bard?
Why would you assume both have instruments?
Steven has specifically said that bards are storytellers, not just musicians - and that the class will reflect this.

Furthermore, Demonic Shaman Pets will not heal the master. You would need two Demonic Shaman Pets to heal both

Just need to clarify a point. Demonic Shaman Pets are not passive. The Lifesteal Shaman Regeneration is only active in combat and through marshal engagement. It is also prudent to give the Dominic Shaman Pet an AoE taunt rather than inbuilt threat generation. I don't want to conflict with the Tank Pet or the threat tables (obviously I know I will be on the threat tables and so will the Pet, I just mean I don't want the pet to replace an actual tank unless it is an emergency).
In an ideal world the tick would be each second of marshal engagement.
Thank you for the support.
Neu.
Edit: spelling mistake.

Due to the complications around terminologies (threat on a1 tank skills, and threat generation in general), I wonder if the Demonic Shaman Pet should generate hatred instead of threat. That way it can still tank for the Shaman and under the duration of taunt, but it would be useless to replace a tank with.
Cheers and much love,
Neu.

I love reading speculative posts such as this one! I also appreciate all the healthy debates and comments bouncing off of each other!
I can't wait to see more on archetypes and classes in Ashes of Creation! I'm also SO excited to see what the design team has in store for class augments ^_^

Thank you

Demonic Shaman Pet also has a 'Soul Swap' function - an Out of Combat Resurrection Function for the Shaman.
The Shaman can resurrect fallen allies after 'Soul Swap'.
Soul Swap can't be activated in combat.
Concept Based on Loremaster Phoenix from Lotro.
Songcaller
Shaman Resurrection Skill (in combat) will be in the Demonic Shaman Pet Skill Roster, plus AoE Taunt, AoE Charge and AoE Damage Abilities.
Cheers,
Neu.
Edit: clarification.

Hatred debuff effect -25% Hit Chance for foes.

Edit: mistake.
Songcaller
Hatred Debuff number 2: -25% critical chance for foes.
Hatred Debuff number 3: -25% attack speed for foes.
Cheers,
Neu.

Final clarification for Demonic Shaman Pet:
Soul Swap Resurrection for the Shaman places the resurrected Shaman at Shaman death location.
Combat Resurrection for other players places resurrected players next to the Shaman.
Combat Resurrection is initiated from Demonic Shaman Pet Roster but
Combat Resurrection is harnessed/operated from the Shaman Itself, not the pet.
Resurrection is still locational to the Shaman, not the pet. The pet hosts the skill, the Shaman initiates and completes the skill.
Soul Swap and Combat Resurrection have no cooldowns, time outs or lock outs.
Much love,
Neu.
Edit: clarification
Songcaller
Lifesteal Shaman Regeneration is remaned Shaman Soul Supplies:
Shaman Soul Supplies gives a tick each second. The tick gives the equivalent of a health pot broken into each second, and, a mana pot broken into each second.
Thus, both health and mana will be fed to allies. The Demonic Shaman Pet does not heal the master, nor does it supply mana to the master. You would need two Demonic Shamans and two Demonic Shaman Pets to supply both masters.
Thank you for the support,
Neu.

It would also be excellent if the Demonic Shaman Pet has a Hatred Aura around it. I'm not sure whether I want a glow or special effect, just the fact that the presence causes hatred in a certain circumference.

To top the cake, any damage from a source to Demonic Shaman Pet will transfer Hatred Debuff. All is fair in love and war.
Let's rock and roll

Correction to Demonic Shaman Pet Roster:
We require :
Shaman Combat Resurrection.
AoE Taunt.
AoE Charge.
AoE Heal/Destruction Spell Combos.
I don't like the idea of an invincible pet, except, it would be cool if the pet grows in size during taunt duration to signal the invulnerable status.
Much love,
Neu.

Concept suggestion (no pressure and no quid pro quo)
Demonic Shaman Pet - Demonic Vampire.
AoE Taunt (Invulnerability for duration) - Winged Demonic Vampire.
AoE Charge - Vampire Bat Surge on impact (DoT).
AoE Heal/Destruction - Blood Effects, Vampire Bat Summons, Vampiric Mist, Vampire Bat Swarm and Blood Corruption (All HoT and DoT).
8 Skills in total for Demonic Shaman Pet. I felt like being creative for once.
Thank you for the opportunities
Neu.
Songcaller
Whoops, Vampire Bat Surge (AoE Charge) is also HoT and DoT.
My bad lol,
Neu.

What is even happening right now?

In large scale pvp it will balance out. The corruption system will help prevent abuse of the concept. The pet will assist in both grouped pve and grouped pvp. It is the best all round concept for risk/reward, pvx healer and of course pure enjoyment.
