[Graphismes] Shadows & stuff
morfthegreat
With the update to UE5 the game looks really good, the light is so much smoother and burnt area of hard shadows are less shocking.
I'd like to know if you guys, plan to have more than one layer of shadow. This could be give us :
-More immersion, seing our own shadow while in a bigger shadow..
-More contrast smoothness, there's still some issues with hard dark shadows or burnt lights, it would give the artists the credit they deserve, cause their models & textures are awesome.
And also, i'd like to know if you will use any techniques (Dither temporal AA or Runtime virtual texturing) in the futur to blend objects to the landscape.

When you enter caves, you can still see your own shadows even in darker areas, shadows can overlap, and in fact, not doing it make it confusing for your brain, cause it knows something is off. Overall, the immersion part isn't that important. Having multiple layers of shadow will mainly soften the dark areas thus the textures won't be too dark in those part.
