Speech-to-Text in game ?

I would love to have S-t-T for obvious raisons , but don't know if available for game industry ?
Add Auto translators on top of it and you open a lot of door to new players. ( useful out of USA I guess )

There would have to be a buffer so that the entire sentence/statement would appear in the chat box as a complete item and not fracture the text flow. A translator could be hilarious....

something to consider as well with a game planning for so many players on screen at the same time, is if they're planning for chat bubbles and if so.....

I hope it can be toggled

First, it allows to send messages while being chase.
In AoC it could change a situation of certain death to maybe not.

In a community game with large group of people communicating by chat , being to slow to write sentences can end in missing the point of the conversation.

With the opportunity of playing with punctual group of unknown players(defending a caravan) , being able to quickly communicating a event could be crucial.

My daughter complained about VR-chats new rules about mods that don’t allow mods that make speech to text work within the game. The main reason it’s used there is for shy people to communicate more efficient.
Also typing on your keyboard takes you out of the immersion of the word.

Is Speech to Text something IS has taken a stance on since the thread was created?

IS has not taken a stance.
And, while it may be feature creep...
By the time the game is actually released, it might be a baked in feature of UE7...
